A^2+B^2=C^2

4^2+3^2+X^2

16+9=X^2

X=5?

It's a joke. The kid was told to find x, and he did. Not only did he find it, but he circled it with his pen and drew an arrow towards it. The spiteful teacher gave him no credit for a correct answer.

I agree that the question was worded in such a way that the answer should have been given full marks.

HAHA, the description of the graph got me rolling on the floor. Its funny you can tell the guy's british too, because he used the word bit.

Actually, the guy posting these is in New Zealand. Close enough I guess. I assume that the school system in New Zealand is somewhat based on the British system. Hope I didn't offend any Kiwis or Brits out there. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Somehow I get the feeling our buddy, chez, was a similar type of kid with such a clever personality.
