i'll probably play from the toilet, as mondays is multiple enema night.(usually after mason leaves, but sometimes he helps)

In the days when my ZX Spectrum was connected to a TV instead of a monitor, I used to video my games on arcade games so I could work out my mistakes.....Is there no way to do this with a monitor?

You can hook up audio and visual equipment to your PC, not sure how you do it without hooking that gear up.

BTW, what games did you have on ZX Spectrum? - I bet they were a damn sight harder to finish than the over the top ones they bring out today.

Well, I played gauntlet to death, which resulted in a ten hour stint in an arcade getting to level 203, I had 9000 health points and 3,000,000 on the scoreboard from one credit when they kicked me out.

I played a LOT of games on the speccy and beat most of them, but the hardest was Dun Darach (Or some other similar celtic words, im sure mike will put me right) which I finally beat just before "Crash" published the solution.

I was the 13th person in the country to beat "Doomdark's Revenge", but I got lucky, one of the NPCs killed Shareth for me, I had no idea where she even was at the time.

I was also one of the first to beat "Way of the Exploding Fist" my Dad promised to buy it for me if I did the washing up, which I didn't do, so I had to buy it myself a few days later.. took me 3 hours to master it and Im SURE to this day I would have been the first if I had washed up.

On a similar note, I finally sent Space Invaders "round the clock" when I went to vegas in '99... they gave you five lives instead of three, so another childhood dream was complete.

I also recently saw that my PB on one of the versions of "Track and Field" was equal to the actual real world record, and I had only played that version twice /forums/images/icons/blush.gif

Don't play much anymore, being a full time Arcadian was great fun and I got crowds bigger even than Onlinechamp does, but the pay was bad, even for a ten-year-old.

I used to have an Amstrad CPC 464 and the games were tough as hell. A couple of footy games that made me laugh, Footballer of the Year and Soccer Boss.

On FotY, you got a certain number of chances to score and try to help your team win - it was a joke if you ever got to the top flight. You get 3 chances to score, you take all of them and your team still gets stuffed 5-3. Every week.

On Soccer Boss, you get to sit on the sideline and watch your team throw a three-nil with minimum effort. All in the last minute of course.

The joystick waggling games used to make me laugh, my dad always looked like he was going to burst a blood vessel on Daley Thompson's Supertest. I went on to emulate his profilic form on the PlayStation version of Track and Field. My world records include 7.70 in the 100m and a sub 40 second time in the 100m freestyle swimming.

My mate regrets showing me that game, because he ceased to be the best in our village shortly after that /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Well my dear Lord, what can transpire if you leave town for a couple days!! I am looking forward to witnessing this challenge on Monday 8(ish) PM Sharp.

I don't have to defend either Potmo or Granny, you two do quite well on your own (I am speaking about written barbs or retaliatory comments - not about poker, that will take care of itself Monday). I like you both, period - no need to explain why other than I do like the odd ducks. I have no further comments on the match but I do have a question for all other spectators - What is the line on this anyway?

Is this a one time thing or is there going to be a rematch or best of 3? I don't know how I became involved in the first place, but I will be there to enjoy the whole thing. And for once in my online poker career I am going to try and be a 'silent' rail bird. (And if you know me at all from Party Poker, you will know this is a feat in itself!!)

Looking forward to tomorrow, that is, if this is still on.....
