We've got some pizza leftovers at work that have been sitting around in the box for about 6 hours. Is this stuff safe to eat? Will a good nuking kill any bacteria on the slices with pepperoni? I'm pretty damn hungry here.

I had a friend that ate 4 day old dominos that was sitting on our counter, at our odl house. He was stoned. Nothing happened to him.....if its just pepperoni, I wouldnt be worried about it after only 6 hours.

Eat it and post a trip report after 24-48 hours.

It's fine. Unless it's chicago style. Then, throw it away no matter how fresh it is.

It should be fine.

Cheap pizza joint pizza is made from stuff that's got plenty of preservatives in it, and can last a long time. I wouldn't worry about eating it.

What you really have to be careful about is anything dairy or mayonaisse and salad dressings with mayonnaise in them. That stuff goes bad really fast.

Holy [censored] 6 hours are you seroius? I've eaten pizza that's been out for well over a day and never even given thought that it could have gone bad.

If Kurosh can drink fermented Izze, you can eat some 6-hour-old pizza...

Eating day-old pizza without it being refridgerated seems normal to me.

Until it's gone.

Seriously, your pizza's fine. Go eat it, cold or hot.

I can only think of one instance where leftover pizza was deemed unfit for consumption, and this was it (ants...bastards).

Pizza remains fresh until eaten, in all cases.

I've never seen that. That must be the stage that follows those "fuzzy things" forming, which is the point where I've drawn my own personal line.

If it smells like food, it's food. That's what mamma always said. And she's still kickin' it.

My rule was always one week unrefrigerated. Refrigerated would obviously be longer.

...no. In a restaurant, if the food is at room temp for over 4 hours. Or more specifically, btwn 40-140 for more than 4 hours it is a violation of the health code to serve it. If you nuke it, it is much safer. That is, if you reheat to above 165 degrees most of the bacteria will be killed. However, some bacteria can leave behind toxic waste (HA!). That said, I'm sure it's fine, but were I in a restaurant I'd not risk my establishments well-being by serving it.

I'M SERVESAFE CERTIFIED PEOPLE!!!!!

I'M ALSO UNBANNABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ate 2 slices about 7 hrs. after it was delivered and 1 more about 2 hrs. after that. No ill effects. I did nuke them.
