Now that I'm signed up on Stars, I'm gonna try these out. Who are the "regulars"?

Hit a "+forum +schedule -re" subject only search in our forum the past few months. Doc is pretty good at getting the results out there. I haven't made many recently, but good stuff (prepare to be spite called!).

Damn, yeah should have thought of that. I haven't been reading these threads because I haven't been involved. Thanks for the help!

Looking forward to the competition tonight. I had been on Empire until the whole fiasco, moved my money to Stars. So far only myself and Kilgore Trout are registered for the Atlantic game tonight. He can't beat me heads-up, so he better pray more of you sign-up! w00t!

Ha, you haven't even begun to experience harassment until you've played with me, w00t! Just wait until I bust out my tired old "Cheeky Chappy" routine (hope no one in the group is ultra-pc)

Also, still only three players signed up, 50 minutes to go. Does everyone sign-up last minute or something?

Heh heh, tough game. 15 players entered, I finished up 7th. Blinds 50/100 and the West Coaster "skipper" BunnieLee raises in EP to 400. I'm in the SB with 7/7 and about 1600 chips and push.

Folded to the skipper, who slow-rolls A/A and it holds up. I'll be playing the 10pm for an attempt at some redemption.

Ugh, both my nemesis....ises took 1st and 2nd. That hyper-aggressive skipper snagged 2nd and my home game competition Kilgore took 1st. At least I outlasted Toro. Was fun, looking forward to the 10pm.

Early on I raise with A/K suited and get two callers. Flop is 2/5/6 with two clubs. I lead out for 200, get called and then Lethalrose, holding 7/7 pushes all-in. I call and turn the Jack of clubs for the flush and more than double up.

I have A/A on the button, raise to 60, other chip leader at the table Trex makes it 300 to go with 10/10. I re-raise to 1000, he calls. Flop is rags and queen-high and he pushes and I call and my hand holds up.

With 14 players there are 21,000 chips in play. Blinds at 25/50 and I’ve built my stack progressively to 8,300 chips. The next closest player has 2K. I can bust anyone of these guys multiple times, what a feeling that is, to have that kind of power. Still, things are slow, no one is making any big plays or moves, so no one is being eliminated. Still, that bodes well for my chip stack, since I can continue pushing them around and scooping chips.

Dr Jekyl with Q/9 sooted runs into Sidekicks A/A on a Queen-high flop, all the money goes in and the Aces hold. At this point I’m up to 8700 chips, with the next largest stack at 2200.

I limp on the button for 50 with 8/9 sooted. SeaSiren in the Blind with 3/3 raises to 150, I type “I call you with the nuts” and call. Flop is Q/9/2 and she checks, I bet a measly 100 into the pot, hoping for a check-raise and then I can make a move, but I also type “you fold, I show” and she says “ok” and I show it. Up to about 9K now, getting closer to half the chips in play.

Mark24 in the SB with A/10 offsuit pushes and gets called by the BB cha59 who holds 10/10. Flop of A/K/Q and he doubles up.

I pickup 10/10 UTG and raise to 400. cha59 pushes for 667 and I call. He has A/K. Flop of 2/2/9. Turn is a 9. River a 4 and I eliminate him and move up to 9700 chips.

Mark24 is UTG+1 and raises to 300. I’m on the button with 7/7 and push. He folds and I’m up to 10,300.

In MP I find A/J offsuit and raise to 300. Sidekick44 in the SB re-raises to 1,000, leaving himself 1258 behind. I opt to fold. He shows A/A. 7 players remain, I still have 10K in chips, the next largest has 2700.

Blinds at 50/100. zabt raises on the button to 250, leaving about 900 behind. I have A/8 offsuit and push. He calls with A/Q. Flop of 2/4/6, no help, turn a 3, river a 3. His hand is good and he doubles, I’m at 8800.

Mark24 limps for 100, gets raised to 250 and calls from the SB. Flop of A/J/2 and he pushes with his Q/J and is called by A/8 offsuit (held by zabt) and he’s gone.

I limp from the SB with 8/9 offsuit. Macattack4 holds 5/5 and checks. Flop of 2/5/8 and I bet, he calls. Turn a 6, I bet, he raises, I call. River an Ace, I check, he bets 300 and I call and see the bad news. He wins 2K and I’m down to 7400. Six players still remain and I have 33% of the chips in play, but zabt is up to 4200 now and could threaten me (I have position though)

After the break we are at 75/150 and I’m dealt A/J offsuit. I raise UTG to 500 and they fold.

I limp in the SB with 10/6 offsuit. Macattack4 is in the BB with K/7 offsuit and checks. Flop of 7/K/7 and we both check. Turn an 8 and I bet my gutshot, he min-re-raises me, I fold and he shows.

Dealt Q/J in the CO and I raise to 500 and they fold.

Dealt A/9 offsuit on the button, raise to 400. They fold, I show.

Zabt raises to 450 with A/3 offsuit, silentsupra pushes for 1200 with 8/8 and zabt calls. Board of 6/4/J/2/8 and silentsupra doubles.

I raise to 400 from the button with 7/9 suited, they fold and I show (they had noticed I had been raising with my A/9) This time I tell them “any hand with a 9 in it is good for a raise!)

I limp with 10/J offsuit. Blinds see the flop of 10/9/4 rainbow and check to me. I bet 250 into the 450 pot. They fold.

I have A/7 offsuit in the BB and silentsupra raises to 400. I smooth-call with position. Flop is J/5/7. He bets 500 into the pot, I raise to 1200 and he folds.

On the button with Q/10 offsuit and raise to 400. They fold. I’ve worked my way back up to 9K in chips. Most of the other stacks are hovering in the 2500-3000 range. Six players still remain with blinds at 75/150.

Sidekick44 raises on the button to 450, zabt raises to 750 and sidekick pushes and zabt calls. It’s A/A for sidekick against A/Q for zabt. Board of J/3/3/10/4 and there’s no suckout, zabt is out in 6th place. Sidekick is up to 5500 chips now.

Down to 5-handed and someone proposes a deal where the top 3 players each transfer $5 to 4th place. We all eventually agree to it. Unfortunately, we are still 5-handed, and poor SeaSiren is severely short-stacked with about 800 chips. She proposes she gets $1 when she busts. :P

She begins to increase it to 1400 over the course of a few hands.

Dealt A/6 offsuit and raise to 600 in EP. SeaSiren gets all her money in with A/5 suited. Flop of 9/8/3. Turn an Ace, and river a friggin 5, she doubles up, ugh! I still have 7K.

In the SB and raise to 500 with Q/3 offsuit. Flop of 7/A/J (macattack4 called me) and I check. Turn a 7. I bet 500. I then type “I’ll show, don’t river your flush” he folds and I show.

SilentSupra raises to 600 UTG and I push with 10/10. He calls with A/K offsuit. Flop is A/2/7. Turn a 5, river a 7 and he doubles up, I’m down to 5K.

On the button raise to 600 with A/3 offsuit. SeaSiren re-raises to 1K. I call. Flop of K/7/4. She checks, I check. Turn a 9, we both check. River a 4, we both check. She shows A/2 offsuit and we split!

I’m dealt A/Q offsuit UTG and raise to 600. SeaSiren again re-raises to 1K. I call. Flop is A/A/7. I check. She pushes and I call. She has 8/8. Turn is a Queen, river an 8 and my hand holds up. We are now 4-handed and everyone will make the money.

I’m in the SB with J/6 and complete, macattak checks. Flop of 6/5/J two clubs, I bet 200. He folds, darn.

Three players to a 2/A/8 club flop. Silent supra bets and sidekick calls. Turn a 9 of spades, silentsupra bets 1K and gets min-reraised by sidekicks K/4 of clubs. Silent supra calls with A/6 and all the money goes in and sidekick doubles up.

Dealt A/J offsuit in the SB and raise to 600, macattack folds.

Silentsupra pushes all-in for his last 187 and I call with K/9 offsuit on the button. The three of us check it down on a board of 10/A/6/6/2. SilentSupra mucks his hand as macattacks 2/7 wins it (silentsupra had 4/9 offsuit)

Dealt K/K on the SB and raise to 500. Macattack calls and the flop is A/5/4 and I lead out for 400. He calls, turn is a 3. I check. He bets 800 into the 1875 pot. I call. River is a 6. I check. He shows 2/6 sooted and wins it.

Dealt A/10 suited in the SB and raise to 600 and he folds. Q/10 suited on the button and raise to 600. Sidekick calls from the BB. Flop of 7/4/A and he checks, I bet 600. He folds.

A/9 on the button and raise to 600. Macattack calls from the SB. Flop is K/A/A and he checks, I check. Turn a 2. He bets 1,000. There are now two hearts on board. I re-raise all-in (since to 3K pot-commits me anyway). He thinks for awhile and folds.

I’m dealt A/Q offsuit in the SB. Sidekick limps, I raise to 1K. Macattack4 calls? Sidekick folds. Flop of 4/J/5. I check. He checks. Turn an Ace, I bet out 1K. He folds and I’ve regained the chip lead to 9K.

Dealt K/J offsuit in the SB and raise to 600. Mac folds. Blinds are now 200/400 with 25 antes.
Dealt 7/8 suited in the SB and raise to 1K. Mac folds.

Mac limps on the button and I have 2/8 sooted and check. Flop of 8/Q/10 and I check, he bets, I go away.

Dealt A/8 offsuit in the SB, raise to 1K. Mac folds again.

Sidekick limps, I have Q/2 suited in the BB and check. Flop is A/J/6 with two of my suit, he checks, I bet 500 into the 875 pot

Dealt K/Q offsuit in the SB. . Sidekick raises to 1200 and I decide to go away with my K/Q Macattack pushes for 4500 and gets called. It’s A/Q vs. Macks 10/10. Flop of J/3/K/J/A and the river makes it happen. And we’re heads-up.

I raise to 1K with K/9 suited, he calls. Checks a K/2/Q flop. I bet 1200 into the 2K pot. He folds. We’re about even with 10K chips each at this point.

Mac on the button raises to 1200. I find K/J offsuit and push. He calls with A/Q offsuit. Flop of 8/3/2 no help. Turn is a Queen and river a 5 and I take 2nd place. Congrats to sidekick44 for his win! I had a great time playing everyone, AND made the final table in back-2-back 2+2 events, holly molly! I'm like the greatest poker player EVER!

What a fabulous recap AJ!
You were quite the busy newlywed... chattin away & must have been takin notes at the same time! and extremely entertaining to-boot! Congats on 2nd!
Was a pleasure playing with all you boys at Trout.
ps.. and yes you are 'the greatest player ever'... er, maybe except for Sidekick who won!

Nice tournament recap there... except that it was Sidekick that raised to 1200 with the button and not Mac! He was gone at that point! /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'd like to say it was skill, but I caught a lot of cards at just the right time (like catching back to back AA). SeaSiren, SilentSupra and macattack4 all played great games as well as others. SeaSiren did especially well coming back from about 500 chips to being in close to a 3 way tie with others when it was down to 5 players.

It was a lot of fun listening to ajmartino's little comic routine while he was amassing chips!

I look forward to playing with you folks again.

Now I'm bankrolled for at least another four events, yee-haw! /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Everyone was cool in both events I played. Plenty of tight agression to go around. Trying to take notes on hands and chat and play was distracting a bit, but it allowed me to keep similar pauses whenever I played or bet/raised.

In the Atlantic game when Toro went in with 6s, I had 7s and would have tripped against the other guy's aces. Sometimes I wish I was a donk /images/graemlins/grin.gif

The "other guy" was KilgoreTrout, who wound up losing his chip lead and being down to 1K, and then coming back to win it. I get the joy of competing with him live this Saturday, he's a tough cookie.

You want to be a miserable former-accountant who isn't even happy when surrounded by girls in Playboy outfits? And you want to play heads-up matches in Grocery Stores and schill whiskey? Ah, that's the life!
