I used to play on Party until about 2 months ago when I switched to Empire for RB... and I got this email today:

I would like to let you know that you are missed at PartyPoker.com!

Please log into PartyPoker.com soon and check out all of the recent updates
made to our site. In addition, there are some very exciting changes in the
pipeline - one that will definitely appeal to you is our new loyalty program
created especially for VIP players like yourself. Benefits include monthly
cash bonuses based on the number of raked hands you have played, and
personalized account service (you will be able to call and e-mail me
directly anytime, without having to go through customer service).

Knowing that you have left us for another web site that has offered you
incentives, I firmly believe that I can make you a better bonus offer to
return to PartyPoker.com.

It is very simple. For example, Last July you played approximately 15,000
raked hands. In October (and for each month afterwards), I will credit your
account with $1,000 should you come back and play at the same level. Of
course, should your level of play exceed this I will happily increase the
bonus accordingly.

I'm sure you will agree that my offer is very generous and it will
definitively make sense for you to play where the best games are, at
PartyPoker.com.

I like this. Can you work out if you will be receiving a lot less than you would have with rakeback?

Certianly not worded like any email ive ever gotten from party.

I'd do a side bet that this is fake based on the writing style.

Do you think it was a fake email from some fake address @partygaming.com? Or do you think I was making it up?

Also, this is about what I was getting in rakeback from my affiliate

It sounds like spam. Did you find this in your junk mail folder?

billyjex

I think you made it up, but I suppose it could be a fake partygaming.com e-mail if you think it's true.

I say this because:

1) This is not written like any Party e-mail I've received.

2) Although Party may implement a program like this, it seems to be very generous in what it gives, more so then i'd expect.

3) You have a low post count.

4) You didn't include the signature part from Party, which most people would do if they duplicated an e-mail.

10-11-2005, 05:21 PM
I just got the same e-mail from them. I guess this is their alternative to the rakeback. I still dont know what the percentage is. but I guess it would be lower than 25%

Haha, it's funny because clearly there's nothing I can do to convince you it was real but here's the full email (also, they knew my name if that means anything):

Also, there was a international phone, cell and fax # listed but I don't want to include them because that doesn't seem right to me.

Why not call them and get the full story for yourself and report back.

Whether this is true or not, Party have publicly announced to analysts that 70% of their revenues come from 10% of Party players - they would be mad not to incentivise high volume players in some way, and am sure its coming.

It's an international number, I don't feel like paying for it. I emailed her and will wait to see if I get a response.

yeah, obviously i can be wrong, it just seemed fishy to me. maybe that's because i would be shocked party would offer such a system -- trust me, i really hope this is real.

There, now it is an email from party.

There is some kind of point system based on how much you play that Party is offering. I had a pop-up when I logged-in that offered me $250 for playing a certain number of hands. A friend of mine who plays a lot more got a pop-up to earn over $1k. This still works out signifigantly less than rakeback.

This is something completely different than what Cup is talking about. This is what a lot of people had received phone calls from Mike Sexton about (before these events happened).

I mentioned this in another thread, but I'm fairly sure that the alternative that Party will be offering is different than the points system that is currently in place.

I don't know whether this letter is real or not, but I can tell you I have received emails from this same person before with Party simply wanting to discuss some new ideas on Party and possible upcoming tournaments.

I simply responded to the email, offered to speak with them at some point to discuss and they did put money into my account in appreciation of my help.

Don't most party emails include information about not giving out your password to anyone else? Or is that just skins?
