Hero is a friend of mine and is button with red aces (on Bodog FWIW). Play is 4 handed. The villain is in BB and has sparred with hero a lot. According to hero, villain is a donator in the game and likes mixing it up and talking a lot of crap.

Hero opens for 35 on the button. Villain flat calls.

Flop comes TT9 two spades. Villain checks, hero bets 35 (halfpot), villain makes it 95, hero calls.

Turn comes 8 of spades. Villain has 600 behind. Hero has villain covered.

How would you critique hero's play thus far and what should hero's action be should villain:
-check
-halfpot
-pot it
-overbet (push)

well turn, I'd give it up probably. that 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif is literally the worst card in the deck to hit. Flop is okay I guess.

If the turn is a blank, hero should push if villain bets anything reasonably large.

This is an ugly, ugly turn, and hero should try to see a showdown only if it's supercheap. Check behind is ideal. Halfpot is callable only if hero knows a big bluff isn't likely to be coming on the river. Anything bigger than that, hero should fold against most opponents.
