Portobello

Get it now, thank me later.

I don't give a [censored] about your 'high class' restaurant burgers, there is no other fast-food burger better then this.

Portobello mushrooms are fantastic.

But Carls Jr. still uses tastless hamburger meat, buns as small, thin and tasteless as napkins, and somehow manages to get an incredible amount of grease onto burgers that are supposed to be char-broiled.

Wait. A portabello burger, with meat. Doesn't that defeat the entire purpose of a mushroom burger?

It's a burger with mushrooms on top. Not some crazy burger made out of a mushroom. web page (http://www.carlsjr.com/menu/)

Click burgers and then on the obvious option.

Then click on the western bacon cheeseburger for a far better burger.

I was able to accurately identify both ingrediants present in mass quantities...

Major mmmmmmm factor, especially if you squirt on a lot of hot mustard too.

Ah, when I think portobello burger, I think an entire portobello used like a beef patty, not some half-assed burger with mushrooms.

But wrong.

Ketchup is vital for burgers. But not sufficient for maximal condimentudinous enjoyment.

Blame it on the french, I was not raised on ketchup but mustard (and yes mayonnaise with fries which I now find gross).
Don't let condiments come between us and a great game.

carls jr is hardies on the east coast right?

Blarg

That's why I wouldn't get one with a crappy Carls Jr. burger. What a waste of mushrooms!

A couple days ago I made myself three open faced portabello mushroom sandwiches, with caramelized onions, melted swiss cheese, and some parsley garnish, with the mushroom liquor and some melted butter as a sauce.

A hamburger in there would have ruined it. Hamburgers are a heavier, duller taste, especially crap fast food hamburgers. The glory of mushrooms is their aroma, and a hamburger, much less one with ketchup or mustard, would overwhelm the other flavors.

That's flyover country. I always assumed it was just desert, maybe like in The Road Warrior. I don't think there are any permanent settlements there.

Carl's Jr (http://www.carlsjr.com/home/)

Hardees (http://www.hardees.com/home/)

Some of the most unclean fast food joints I have been in are called Hardee's.
