I had high hopes for this but I thought it was retarded.

Did you see the edited and dubbed version or the original subtitled version?

The subtitled version is better; seek it out if you haven't already.

I kinda liked it. Same type of thing as "Kung Fu Hustle" but KFH was better IMO.

The original subtitled version was awesome!
The new one was.....meh.

Edited and Dubbed.

I'm not very big on subtitled movies so I doubt I would have liked it. They showed this movie on starz last night, for anyone interested that has starz.

No, man, you're missing out on some of the insane chinese humor in the original. Whole scenes are missing and the dialogue is really different in the dubbed version.

I've seen both.... trust me, you need to watch the original subtitled one.

I liked this one, better than Kung Fu Hustle too.

Trust me, I hate watching movies with subtitles. I'd rather watch paint dry than my favorite movie ever but with subtitles.

I love this movie.

Almost all foreign movies are much better with subtitles.

They can make some really weird translations when dubbing, to make it fit the characters mouths more, and the dubbed words are often totally different than the subtitles, sometimes completely changing the mood of a scene.

If you're watching dubbing, it's like you're watching a new movie about the old one, but you're not watching the old one. It's almost always a notable step down.

Oh man, I remember seeing a preview for this a long time ago. I finally watched it a few weeks ago on Starz or some other movie channel.

Absolutely hilarious, chock-full of unintentional comedy. My favorite is TEAM EVIL.

I haven't seen the edited one but I have the original here, and it's a riot. Awesome movie.

I've pretty much vowed never to watch any dubbed foreign films (or anime), they're almost always inferior. I'd rather read the subtitles.

Yup. It's well worth it.

Half the reason a foreign movie may be crap can be a bad dub.

The US release of that movie kept getting pushed back over and over again. I finally said [censored] it and bought a subtitled version from Canada. I'm glad i did. Some people just can't stand subtitles though, and i can understand their position.

Me too, but they're definitely missing out.

You added no content. If you are going to say the same exact thing as the person you are replying to just go ahead and quote them so i don't have to read it.

Quoting bloats the thread a lot, and is harder to read than something short and sweet like "Agreed" or "I agree" or "Makes sense to me."

I don't think anything's easier and less wasteful.
