Is my form horrible? Is that why I was really sore the next day?

If that's the top of your swing, yeah, you need to keep moving the club back till it's parallel with your shoulders. Square up your right foot.

And put some shoes on, hippy!

Eh, I don't golf but I think one of your arms are supposed to be straight.

I figured. Probably the reason my arms were sore the next day.

What's going on with that grip?

Cancuk

It's pretty ugly...it looks like you chop at the ball...instead of swing through it...i'm sure your backswing isn't smooth either....

do you hook? it looks like you probably pull it a lot.

first- most golfers don't use the term "form" when referring to their swings, nothing wrong, just kinda n00bish
second- your stance looks a little too wide...(although i cant quite tell what club you are using), but you usually want your feet shoulder length apart, slightly increasing in width with the longer clubs. You could also bend you knees a bit more to get more power and flexibility into your swing. Your takeaway looks a bit awkward and your grip definitely could use some help. Just ask anyone you know who plays golf or maybe a pro who works at the range to help you out with grip and basic takeaway. GL

Couple of things:

1. That looks like a putting grip. Normal grip looks more like this http://www.pgaprofessional.com/images/abcs_01grip2.jpg

2. Keep your left arm straight. You should take the club back far enough so that your left arm is parallel with the ground.

3. Bend your wrists about 45 degrees so that the club head is more or less in line with your left leg at the top of your swing.

4. Bend your knees.

5. Your left leg should be leaning back (away from the direction in which you want to hit the ball) more so you create more forward momentum on the downswing.

6. You're hot /images/graemlins/blush.gif

Either way is fine. I don't interlock, I place my pinky over my index finger, but this is all down to preference. The fundamentals of the grip stay the same though.

One static image reveals little. However, it looks like you're using your arms too much, rather than rotating your hips. Your hips/body are still facing the ball squarely in that picture, yet your arms are back, near the peak of the back swing.

It hasn't been said enough and it is the most glaring problem...

Straighten out that left arm. If you are just beginning, 3/4 swing and never bend that left arm until you get more comfortable.

You may have more things wrong with your swing than i do which is something i didn't think was possible.

thanks for the advice fellas. I'm not really very into golf...at all...but I kind of want to know the proper stance for next time I go to the range.
I guess I need to get out some golf books.
