I thought I'd try something different than hot chicks (not that there is anything wrong with that). But you can still stare at it for a while and play with yourself.

If you are serious about it and don't want spoilers, I suggest printing it out. Knowing the competetive nature of people here I expect to see solutions being posted here in about, oh, 2 minutes.

this is a very sweet idea, especially since I now notice that it's an OOT-themed puzzle. kudos.

I always thought that I was on 2+2 and OOT too much. Looking at this puzzle, and the fact that I know about 5 of these, makes me feel like less of a loser.

Excel, and my imagination

I admit I did try looking for a program at first, but they all seem to suck. They seemed restrictive. Plus I did not want to pay for one - I'm sure commercial ones are good.

I will also own up to using crossword dictionary sites to show me possibilities when I had a couple letters for a given span, could not think of a word for the span, and needed to see what was feasible. For the most part, what would happen in those situations was that I would see that I only had a couple choices, not like them, and then abandon my thoughts and start over in that section. One word that did come via that "jam it in mentality" was Israeli desert. Sorry about that.

It was a lot of fun doing this, and gives me great appreciation for crossword editors. Will Shortz is a demigod.

Ironically enough for you, CancerMerchant, close but no avatar

Albeit that is the toughest part of the puzzle
