i do know he has already signed up for almost all the WCOOP tourneys.
I don't think it is him though as he plays in a huge amount of tourneys all the way down to the $22 level. I don't see Hellmuth playing at that low a buyin.

But I do think Barry Shulman, owner of Card Player plays. BarryS (and the pic is of Barry Shulman). Saw him win a $100 PLHE tourney.

Phil played under PhilHell at Paradise before UB started, but it is unlikely that he is playing anywhere else with a piece of the action at UB.

I think you are name driven above all else OC. I've played with Phil online heads-up, he's a solid heads-up player. There are many solid players online, you included, but you need to get past the glory part. Money is what is important in poker, dropping names and having your own Hall of Greatness is not the way to fame in this business. We don't care if Dan N showed you his cards, move on with your life pal.

Ok Sunshine I will answer your question the best I can. Objective-$10,000
Option A. Muck (secure myself $400 and probably only have 1300 or so chips left after the sb of 1000 takes me down).
Option B. Reraise and have a CHANCE to double up and a GOOD shot at winning this $10,000. (I mean he was on the button he could have anything k 10 , k j, 8 10, all of which I had beat).

So after a long tourney and a quick decision made by a railbird and myself I chose option B (railbird was bigstick99 said something like make a move, maybe had he not said anything I pick option A)

Bah, chump stop making excuses, you will never measure up to my skills. Your just lucky my draw didnt hit, although a bad play on my part. When's the last time you won this? or Back-to-Back for that matter? The Legend of "Phil Hellmuth" lives on..... /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

Against a random hand you're like 47%, and this is not a random hand raising. This is a tournament, if you pass here, and most likely the SB, you have a good chance to out-last short stacks at the other table before you must play a hand. You shouldn't look down your nose at the $400, because with your chip position that's more then your EV.

Winning this hand doesn't get you a "good" shot at the $10K first prize, but losing does get you the bubble. I've made many bad plays in PokerStar's $215, but I rarely admit to listening to a railbird for advice on how to play a hand. This is a case of you playing to the crowd and IMO making a subpar play because of it.

what makes you suspect it is him? I've played with him and find nothing remarkable about his play. In fact he seems a little weak/tight.

sdplayerb
05-25-2003, 02:29 PM
he was getting 3-1 odds and the raiser in a 6 handed game with a lot of chips could have a huge # of hands (unless he is a known rock).
even knowing his opponent has a pocket pair that is the right play.

Gotmilk
05-25-2003, 02:36 PM
yeah that cant be right because it has AK at 49.7 but AKs at 67 -- Against a random hand A2 is a very strong hand if you deal out 5 cards im pretty sure

heads up chart (http://gocee.com/poker/he_ev_wins.html)

53% according to this, it has hardly any hands dominated, so it seems right to me.

i only checked a few but the ones i checked were way out against one random hand

soooted makes about 3% difference

AKs is right at 67%

AK should be 64%

A2s is right at 57%

A2 should be 54%

i think if you look at the KQ (which should be 61%) and the T5s on your chart you will realise that something has gone drastically wrong in your recording of non-soooteds in your list

of course if you think that KQ is the same as T5s i will fly to the US and play HU with you for a week if i can have KQ and you have T5s every hand

417500 total chips
21973 average stack
33400 prize money
1757 EV for average stack
88 vs A2 70-30, but my guess in his spot would be 60-40

40% of the time you improve to a stack worth $775
60% of the time ZERO

$310 for playing this way

The current stack, by this crude method, is worth about $175 plus some value for already paying the BB...........Ah don't make me admit OC was correct. I would rather eat kitty litter.

Another alternative reason was this I saw Q9(all in) off vs A10 suited on the other table before I decided to RAISE all in with a2o once I saw the flop and saw A 10 was leading I quickly raised all in. The turn was a 9 and he won so I was in trouble I needed to win my hand or I was out(my time bank was on 0 seconds so I couldnt wait to see the result before acting). Also I felt my a2o was winning he could have anything k 10 off.
