View Full Version : Enlistment For OOT Infiltration Teams - Vote Forest

Most of you know about the OOT push to get votes for joshman1204's kid's school. The original thread is here (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=3566719&page=0&view=colla psed&sb=5&o=&fpart=7#Post3624758) .

This contest is no longer just about Forest Elementary getting laptops (that will just be a bonus for the kids). This is about the honor of OOT. We are going to show that we can beat a bunch of 7-12 year olds sitting at their computers decyphering validation codes.

Edit: One of the ways we're going to try to make it is by enlisting other internet forums. These forums will not be told about the OOT effort, though. We will be just trying to get them going on their own.

CardSharpCook, Stuey, and myself have done an infiltration of the DIS Boards, which can be seen here. (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=930100&page=1&pp=15)

This did not take off like it did in OOT, even though DIS has twice the membership of 2+2, which is disappointing. I think the reasons it did not take off there is because of the demographics of the posters there.

Using http://www.big-boards.com as a guide for how large the forum is, please post some suggestions for the next infiltrations.

We need teams of 3-5 for each discussion forum we will infiltrate. Please PM me or post here indicating how many forums you are willing to help infiltrate.
Two things to keep in mind:

1. NO Poker or gambling related forums. There is too much of a chance that someone from those forums will see OOT.

2. If you are already an active member of a forum, that is a big plus and we need you're help.

I'm in (but will only be able to start tomorrow as keyboard is currently broken (its taken me about 10 mins to write this message). Set me up with an undercover team and i'll be happy to do my bit. I think Christian forums could be profritable. They can hardly say no if we ask them nicely to vote.

I think I can help 3-5 teams. I don't want to be the OP as I am not very articulate and I have no established accounts on other forums.

Go forest!

Resistance is futile!

I would like links to these as I would be willing to bump them when they fall off the front page. Plus I will give encouragement to the people voting and try to add legitimacy to your post so it does not get deleted or locked.

Thanks for putting the effort into starting these it makes a big difference.

Yes please post links to the posts on imdb and the other forums. If anyone is going to work support on those threads, please post so here so there aren't too many newbies bumping a thread on the other site, as it might arrouse suspicion.

I can help on a few (3-4) teams but would rather not be the OP. I don't have very good making up stuff skills but can help bump and support.

Lame. If this continues we'll have to stop publically posting links on OOT.

BTW, how is this a "scam" when none of us are profitting in any way except the OP?

you have to approach this with a certain degree of diligence.

OOT took this on like a lost child, because most OOT'ers are degenerates (no offense, i consider myself one) and love the underdog.

What group of people also champion the underdog? its going to be groups that feel like underdogs. Target forums that cater for depressed/vulnerable people, this will make them feel good about themselves for helping others, and due to their current disposition, they will have a higher degree of sympathy for the cause.

So what groups need attacking?

suicide
anorexia
depression
lonliness
bereavements
family forums

This might be harsh, but its not a game anymore. This contest needs to be won at all costs.

Get to work OOT!

I don't know. Some did it to the Playstation one too and that one was actually getting people to vote. Somebody being a jerk for no reason. We should probably stop posting the links here so this worthless person can't rat us out.

what we really need is mid-sized forums/whatever where each user has a higher trust level than normal forums. for example, university of washington runs a fairly large dc++ server on their internal network. it has anywhere from 300-500 people online. i think that should be hunting grounds we should be looking for. college forums are all good i think. any others people can think of?

tonypaladino
10-09-2005, 08:41 PM
I think I should own up on DIS, but point out that voting is still for a good cause.

Here is the procedure from now on:

-PM me forum ideas.

I'll set up teams, and all communication will be done by PM.

DO NOT POST ANY LINKS TO ANY FORUM POSTS HERE.

Anything already posted here or in the original thread should probablly be abandoned.

LordBP
10-09-2005, 08:43 PM
Probably a good idea tony. Also you might sort of screen PMs to see if they have been involved with posting in the main thread and such.
I can't believe someone would do that.

Stuey has started an infiltration. PMs have been sent to team members to provide support. Remember: DO NOT link to the forum on oot, communicate details by PM only.
