i don't really know what i'm doing but i gave it a shot (i work in a professional photo lab but i do color analyzing not retouching /images/graemlins/tongue.gif ).
i didn't do much, cropped it, took the people out of the background, reduced shine & blemishes on his forehead, and tried to remove her redeye.

the file size is only 1.89mb after cropping it down a little to size, is this the original file ? that is getting kinda small for 8.5x11 print. it might look pixelated when it is printed but you might be ok.

i increased the resolution / file size, but the quality depends on your original image which was only about 2mb , which is not a very large file to begin with for an 8x10. but i think it will look alright.

OP, if you plan print this at home, and this is the largest file size you have, download the evalulation copy of QImage (http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage/).

It does the best job of interpolation I have seen. It will help a great deal with the print quality.

I fixed it on my first attempt, then re-did the pic from scratch and forgot to fix the red-eye... plus I was doing this when I should have been on my way to thanksgiving dinner so it was a bit of a rush...

that didn't come out quite as well as I think is possible (bare in mind I'm no photoshop expert)... I use an action called Walrus Fantasy Focus that I got from Adobe Studio Exchange a few years back. I took a quick look but couldn't find it there... there are some others there, just search on 'soft focus'. Or PM me and I will email you the action I use, if you are interested.
