Is Party trying to drive the poker players away?

I think it is great. I've been saying for a long time they should have a tip the dealer button.

I just mail a check every month to Party Poker and ask them to use their discretion in splitting amongst the dealers.

The correct answer is no. Do you see why?

how is party losing that much money when all the people who have rakeback were on empire/euro?

This will hurt party. Maybe not now, but it will hurt them. Players will start to search for other options. And let me tell you there are other sites that have a decent selection and the players are just as bad as party.

The old thinking that party players were the worst is/was a thing of the past. And the more they disassociate themselves from players the more trouble they will face.

I am already making plans to set up permanent shop at a different room. And i know that party could care less about me, but after a while it adds up. Especially when they are kicking out alot of the high volume players that helped generate the rake they live off of.

For those who want to remove the sidebar option. Simply go into the PartyPoker Images folder and rename the six images that start with "SideBet" (I just put a "z" in front of each name).

I'm actually shocked they haven't added a "Tip" button.

read it again, all the players who are pissed off were on the skins anyway.

People will find a better place, tell their friends who will tell more people.

If anyone has read The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell, Party has taken a huge risk here IMHO.

here is something i genuinely dont get: all the players with RB who are up in arms werent playing at party... they were playing at empire/euro... so how much does party really care if theyre angry? not too much

well i think this is ultimately going to help some non party sites grow. think about it. a lot of ex party players became party skin players to get rakeback. now that that isn't an option they may very well leave both party and the skins.

contrast this with stars, stars never transplanted any players to some skins then cut them off. as a result there are more players logged on stars right now than party. if the gap widens further ultimately stars could control the lions share of the market. it will become a dominant firm in a market with a competitive fringe. if you have ever studied econ you will see that in such a case the dominant firm will likely be able to secure some economic profits whereas the competitive fringe firms will be price takers and will have to settled for zero economic profits.... though it is probably a lot more complicated than that because there is a lot of product differentiation between the sites because of varying limits, software, bonus, rakeback etc etc...

it would have been better if party never had the skins at all if this is the route it is going down. since it did become affiliated with the skins i don't think its wise to potentially divide up your player base. especially when they can easily go to your competitors in a market that is young and still developing.

It's a snowball effect. The thing Party had going for it was availability of games. Once that starts to shrink it has a chance into snowballing into a larger loss.

It should help PokerStars. It would have helped UltimateBet had they not destroyed their bonus point system. If I were them, now would be a good time to put it back the way it was.

this is true. poker sites, like ebay, become more valuable as the number of their customers increase. this is because the customers interactions with other customers is how the company's value is determined in the first place.

from an ebay sellers perspective, ebay is more lucrative if there are many potential buyers (imagine an auction with one bidder). from an ebay buyers perspective, the more sellers there are, the more auctions there are, which means more selection and a better chance of finding a product that you actually want.

I'm glad I have skins from pokermods.com because I dont see any of this garbage except for the BJ game that is just part of Planet/Starluck casino network.
