View Full Version : New Party Poker (minus the skins)

I just read the "press release" in the internet forum about Party becoming an seperate network from the other skins, and to my amazement, virtually all the PL Omaha players are on the new Party private network and no one is playing the skins. I am stunned that all these players were playing out there without a care for rakeback. I would really love to see the PL08 tables develop on the skins too. Pretty depressing. For the moment it looks like all whoring and rakeback are temporarily our of the question for PL08 players at Empire, Multi, and Coral/Euro. I can't find a game.

Also you thought the rake was a bitch, try the new side bets or the blackjack, madness.

yeah that side bet/blackjack stuff is going to add a new wrinkle to my drunken poker exploits... I predict catastrophe. Fun catastrophe, though.

You are taking your loss of $1000 a month in rake back pretty well. I'm kinda pissed I may have to play 5000 hands of holdem to get the remaining $500 of bonus I have coming from Multi. Unless drastically more players show up.

Clowngod has left the building.

Where are you going to go? Still tons of Omaha at the new Party only "Party". Stars does not offer Rakeback, Prima has games going, and you can find rakeback and bonus, but the software is atrocious. UB has rakeback and its own screwball bonus, but getting games over the .10/.25 level is dicey. For games like PL08 this is a problem. Maybe I need to brush up on my limit game.

PS. Nice to see you posting CG.

What I meant was that the name "clowngod" would have to be retired. But as it turns out I was able to make a small adjustment and clowng0d will live on at party.

However, I am none too pleased about giving up the $1500/month from rak bak.

Also, I am none to pleased by the "technical difficulties" currently being experienced by the eurobet cashier. I have a bad feeling about this.

Same here.

Here this will help, its from a gambling website.

You are taking a risk when you send your money to an offshore casino. You are taking less risk when you send money to casinos that put all customer deposits into escrow accounts at banks. You are taking less risk when you send money to casinos located in England or Australia, because those jurisdictions have better laws controlling casinos. You are taking less risk when you send money to a casino that publishes quarterly income statements and balance sheets, provided the casino is making a profit and has more tangible assets than liabilities.

If you send money to a casino that does not put customer deposits into escrow, then your deposit is a short-term loan to that casino. The casino uses your deposit to pay bills and to cover withdrawals by other customers. If you withdraw money, the casino will pay you out of new deposits being made by other customers. This system is fine as long as the casino is making a profit; but if it is operating at a loss, it is indistinguishable from a Ponzi scheme. When a Ponzi scheme does not attract enough new deposits to cover withdrawal requests, it implodes, leaving little in the way of assets to distribute to customers.

Yeah, that'd suck. And it's why I never keep more than ~10k in a site at a time. But I can handle losing 10k for the opportunity to win 100k. The loss of the $1000/month is a bigger deal IMO.

fwiw,

Eurobet is a massive sports book in the UK and was just bought for £2bn. Your money is safe.

That's interesting that you mention this. Two nights ago I was playing at UB and had three tables at 3/6 to pick from.

I wonder if people are moving over?

Last night it was still a little busier than usual.

Eurobet should be OK. But this whole thing is a good reason for players to be careful about leaving too much money in online casinos.
The post from the gambling website is very important stuff.

Blah... It all sounds bad to me. This might be time to sharpen my NLHE game.

Just processed a cashout at eurobet. It went through as usual. Now I'll just wait to see if it hits neteller in the usuall 1-3 days.

I'm feeling better now.

I wasn't too worried about my money on Eurotrash, but man, i haven't even gotten a communication from them explaining the downtime. That really sucks.

11 PM Sunday night- only 2 full games going on the skins in all of the O8 section ( pot and limit ). This can't be good.

for what its worth, absolute usually always has 1 or 2 5/10 omaha HL going, along with 3-5 2/4s

They give reload bonuses seemingly every other day (which amounts to a good rake back plan).

Fck! Scratch that. NLHE: Hard. I need to find some PLO8 tables.

So far, the X-skins are awful; pots are about 70% of the size that they used to be. I think it will take at least a month for quality games to return...sigh. I hadn't been playing the other sites enough anyways.

The skins have to do something to get business going. Time for them to aggressively campaign for NEW players. They don't seem to be packing up their tents. They still are the 3rd largest network....I expect the games to become like ultimatebet. Just guessing

I'm a PLO8 player that likes rakeback, and haven't followed the Party/Empire split except to notice I can't get a game anymore on Empire.

It sounds like the consensus is that the only place for consistent games at the $1-2 BB level is at Party? Is there anywhere else? Prima? Pacific? UB?

Might this be a good forum for PLO8 players who like rakeback to decide on one place to play? Hint, hint. My vote is for Empire but I'd go wherever.

I'd love to see play develop on the Skins network as well as on Party, because I expect quite a bit of bonus will be offered in both places. Both of my Rakeback affiliates (for Eurobet and Multi-Poker) have already stated they will be offering rakeback for party. My Eurobet affiliate has already outlined the process for getting rakeback, which involves closing your party account and openning a play money account through them and converting it. Supposedly this is all done with Party's blessing. If that is the case, I think all the Rakeback players will simply play on the Party Network. None of the other sites have sufficient players for PL08 in my opinion. Yes you can find a game, but not 24/7 at any limits you want like Party-- where you can usually multi-table any game you want. I'm still trying to work off about 1000 hands on the skins network, but it is very tough to get multi-tables going.

Anybody else got a letter saying you were on the VIP club on Empire recently? It sure sounds like I got in because they noticed I took out some cash. Anyone else? Sure seems like this is the way Empire is fighting back.

Empire is fighting back by offering a 100% reload bonus today, not VIP points.

After monitoring the games on the skins for the past few days, I finally decided to just withdrawal.

Dangit, and I just did the whole rakeback deal and got everything set up! What a FUBAR.

I figured that I'd transfer money to Stars during their promotion, since the games seem a little better there.

I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to serious, online poker. I've always been a live player, and mostly a Stud player at that, so it came as somewhat of a suprise to me that Omaha is the only game I can tolerate online, seriously. Go figure.

Anyway, I've noticed the skin PLO8 and LO8 games are pretty much dead, whilst the games at UB, Stars, PR and Paradise seem better. I have some kind of affiliate deal with Paradise, a few excellent deals with UB via PokerShare and Ultimate Buddy or something, a new one with PR and the bonus with Stars. Hopefully I'll recover some of the horrendous rake with these schemes, at any rate.

I'm kind of taking a wait and see approach right now. Since I didn't have a long, lucrative cash involvement with Party-skin rakebacks, I don't feel like I'm missing too much, but I definitely understand the pain all of you online pros are going through. FUBAR.
