If I fold I still have a healthy 1855 but AQ looks like a big hand here. What should I do?

I'd call. You may have 2K, but it doesn't dominate the table. And because of this, you need to look for an opportunity to gain a lot of chips, because even though you have twice the chips of some, you're still "shortstacked" because of how big the blinds are. This guy could have any decent hand, but you dominate many of them. You dominate any queen and ace except AK. You are a fave against 2 unders and Kx. Against a pair it's a coinflip. And in the unlikely yet still possible chance he has QQ, KK, or AK, you will still win 30% of the time. And of course if he has AA, well, just go ahead and type nh. but frankly, a player will limp or minraise with aa or kk often enough that the odds of him having those are even less.

Ask yourself this: Would you call with AK? You probably would, right? Well, AQ is close enough that you only screw yourself when he has AK or QQ (compared to your situation if you had ak)

Finally, you have to call $790 to win $1390, so you're getting almost 2 to 1. I think this is a great opportunity to win a lot of chips. Yes, you could lose it but you'd still have 1k and I'd say at least 2/3 of the time you're going to win.

What you're saying makes sense to me. I'm trying really hard to reach a conclusion here, I so hate not being first into the pot so I have almost always folded here but I'm beginning to think this is a leak, maybe a big leak.

Would you still call if pusher had 2000 chips as I do?
Would you still call if the hand was AJ instead of AQ?

I'm reraising allin. A call is wrong, because the BB may come along. If you call and lose, you are not completely dead, you are simply reversing roles but have a few hands outside the blinds.

Unless you have some kind of ninja read ("He'll only raise with QQ, KK, AA, AK or AKs), I'd be taking this kind of situation every time.

His range is likely quite large, and will definitely contain many hands you dominate. Would I make this play with AJ? Probably not. AQ+ and TT+ is likely my range here, but it depends a lot on how often he's making this move.

This is a very clear push. If he is pushing as much as he should, you should call if he has 2000, too, and you should call here with AJ.

Seeing as you don't need curtains' advice here, I'll chime in. Auto-call. Villain is pushing with a weaker ace more often than not. Push all in to shut everyone else out.

OK so which is it, autocall or push. Calling I think is just awful.

I think he means push - the assumption being that if you call, you're obviously better off with all your chips in.

SNG PT says it's an easy call. So it's a push I guess. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sorry for the confusion. Push.
