first hand at the table.

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 6/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 7/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
UTG calls, MP calls, 2 folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (4 SB) 9/images/graemlins/spade.gif, T/images/graemlins/club.gif, 8/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, UTG calls, MP calls, SB calls.

floped the str8. niiiiiice. /images/graemlins/smile.gif bet/call and raise turn, or c/r here?

Turn: (4 BB) A/images/graemlins/club.gif (4 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG checks, MP bets, SB calls, Hero raises, UTG calls, MP calls, SB calls.

Turn is goot if someone limped with an Ace. A happy card for me, and a happy betting sequence as well.

River: (12 BB) J/images/graemlins/club.gif (4 players)
SB checks, Hero ...

this is the worst possible card for me. Now any Q whoops my ass, and the flush came in. River plan?

Check/call. You'll see a pair of jacks here often.
