Reads: UTG is mediocre. He actually autorated as a fish, but I think he's better than that. He calls a bit too much postflop. He is capable of making plays at big pots. He probably respects my play.

EDIT: I've been playing with him for about 100 hands and every time I have bet reasonably hard I have shown down the winner.

River bet looks like a decent value bet to me.

I think I 3bet the flop and push a safe turn

Edit: With stack sizes I like your line better, though i would bet 2/3 pot on turn.

I can't three-bet the flop. His all-in raise is not big enough. I would have 3-bet if possible.

I'm thinking your hating of the riverbet is results-oriented....whatever they were. After you lead that turn and just get a call, I think you are up against top pair unimproved. Maybe some sort of whiffed draw that he picked up on the turn...dunno. I think going for a check/call is bad here because I think the only hand that makes a play at the pot here is a whiffed draw, but a queen will check behind.....I think a queen might call a less than half pot bet here though.

i'd probably bet a little more on the turn...$16

something to think about...when there's a short-stack like in this case, i'll either bet enough to bring them in, or bet half their stack so that their push will reopen the betting and give me more options.

Seems pretty standard. What hands are you really worried about aside from 10J or some other raggedy two pair. River bet is fine. Why don't you like it?
