View Full Version : The Pot Calling the Kettle Black, How Rude...

02-15-2002, 12:36 PM
We have all heard of the pot calling the kettle black. Well in the Hold'em Wars, we have a great many Chip Generals yelling the same nonsense to the closest ear that will listen. The Chip General to your left or right very often feels a kinship to his neighbors. Or at least a kinship to any neighbor with a sympathetic ear. They always see the fly in the ointment of their opponents and never see their own reflection in the mirror of errors. Case in point.

On the Boat that never seems to sail in East Chicago, IN (Harrah's Casino) the SPM was getting some pretty terrific battle plans from the Supply Officer, Captain Dealer. Luck was on the SPM's side and the battles he fought, turned out to be winners at the river. He had three stacks + of prisoners and had plans to train them into real fighting machines. Enter stage right Mr Loose Aggressive. Raising with release hands and winning, catching good cards and surprising his enemies with legit hands when they were sure he had nothing. Color him, a hard man to put on a hand. His glory was beginning to take its toll on the SPM. Prisoners were escaping and the Warden was getting miffed at Mr Loose Aggressive. Miffed is a dangerous emotion that can lead to death and destruction of even a sizeable army of Chips. The SPM hogtied Mr Emotion an played a very weak tight game. This is the year of the no tilt proposition.

Across the battlefield was a beautiful Oriental Queen who ruled the land of Any2willdo. She was loose but not stupid and her power was becoming legendary on this particular battlefield. She rarely raised pre-battle and would answer a raise with a smooth call with the good the bad and the ugly. She had taken many prisoners but seemed to be a kind and fun loving winner.

Mr Loose and Aggressive, was pretty cocky while destroying most of the Chip Generals around the battlefield. The SPM lost all of his prisoners and had a half of his army deserted in the face of under-whelming odds gone crazy. When the fickeled finger of fate turn against Mr Loose and Aggressive and his army of prisoners revolted and were reassigned to more effective leaders. He began to sing a different tune. Now he wanted validation, and had an overwhelming need to point a finger at the beautiful Oriental Queen. He leans over to the SPM's ear and says, "Wow I thought she was a good player at first, but she's in almost every hand." So were you knuckle head! Thought the SPM, as he smiled and nodded his head sympathetically.

In the finally tally Mr Loose and Aggressive went home with his tail between his legs, while the Oriental Queen needed a forklift to carry home the spoils of war. The SPM, managed to regroup his troops and staged a late night come back. The SPM never sends Chips out forever, when they don't come back immediately, you can be sure they are just on a reconnaissance mission. When they all came back, they brought friends. The Pots and Kettles will always be with us, they have selective memory, and like vampires can't see their own image in the mirror of errors.

SPM,...fighting the good fight and staying out of trouble...
