PL Omaha, PL O8?

Last night at an underground card room a PL omaha high game was spread. After several hours and down to 7 players, rounds were alternated between Hi and O/8 but the game was still PL. Is PL O/8 common?
The strategy between PL and Limit O/8 seem to be pronounced which I did not fully realize until afterwards.

There is a fair deal of PLO8 discussion on the Omaha/8 board. There is fairly regular action for this game online and it is probably my main game right now. I bet it isn't spread live very often due to the cumbersome nature of calling highs and lows, splitting pots, etc. I play quite a bit differently in PLO8 than I do in limit O8.
