I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm not finding it on the search function. I'm about to open my account at Empire, and will be playing exclusively Sit and Go's. How do I get rackback?

Click on the advertisers in this forum. Search around their sites, and it will lay out the whole process for you. Alternatively you can email their customer support departments and they will help you get set up.

Many people will try and PM you now, but i dont recommend going with one of those affiliates as you have no idea who they are. Advertisers in this forum are long standing trusted affiliates.

You've got to be joking. You're criticizing Morgant for warning people about PM offers that could be coming from anyone? You conveniently omitted the rest of his post:

Using a trusted affiliate is obviously very important in choosing a rakeback deal. By putting blind trust in any person who decides to PM you, you put yourself at unnecessary risk.

The system we are implementing over the next few weeks will give players more security than you get through random PM offers. You will still be able to get the same information, except we're filtering out the trash. And if you have more questions, you can always contact any or all of the affiliates listed.

Ah . . . no I'm definitely not.

I'm not criticizing the message . . . but rather the way it was presented. He wasn't "warning" anyone. What he said was DON'T DO IT . . just like any salesman trying to protect his sale would. If he had said something to the effect of, "I'd be cautious about going with . . . or, " make sure your careful " followed by something like what you said;

I wouldn't have chimed in at all.

Just because someone pm's me with an offer doesn't make him a scumbag. I would wager that there are a ton of excellent Affiliates on 2 + 2 that are not part of your "crew". I would wager even more, that every single one of you (Mod's) got your start in the Affiliate game by pm'ing people with offers. If that is the case, don't you think it's just a tad hypocritical on your parts to now dismiss anyone who uses that method to attract customers ??

In my opinion (a non affiliate) there is more than enough spam in this forum from the moderators and their advertisers without adding it to every thread. If your products are "the best" then let them speak for themselves without the blatant self promotion or spamming (I'm mostly thinking of morg with this) within the threads themselves.

I totally agree with your stance to not allow percentages and spamming (from unauthorized sources) but . . . . If you guys don't want this forum to turn into a complete joke, some of you need to get much better at walking the fine line between blatant commercialism and just obviously biased advice.

I only take the time to offer this up, because you guys (mod') do appear to be receptive to constructive criticism . . . I'm assuming if only at the very least, in an effort to give this forum every opportunity to succeed

This is his exact quote. Not as extreme/harsh as 'DON'T DO IT', but not specifically a warning either. I think we've discussed this part well enough.

Just because someone pm's me with an offer doesn't make him a scumbag.

I completely agree. I will also say that just because an affiliate doesn't advertise here or doesn't take part in this forum, it doesn't make them a scumbag either.

On the other side of the coin, if an affiliate does advertise here, you can feel confident that he/she is not a scumbag.

I only take the time to offer this up, because you guys (mod') do appear to be receptive to conctructive criticism

We greatly appreciate constructive criticism. As you can imagine, this forum is a difficult undertaking. There are some decisions we make that will get criticized regardless of what we choose to do. That is the nature of this business. Most of the criticism that I have seen thus far has not been constructive. Mostly, it has been fueled out of anger, jealousy, or just a desire to see us fail.

But, we're trying our best to find a balance that appeases all of the parties involved. Personally, I'm excited about the future of this forum and the updates it will have over the next few weeks.
