I do but I shouldn't talk about it.

Edit: All I'll say is, my sister was best friends with a real life Meadow Soprano type. We suspected but no one knew for sure until the father went to jail and the rest of the family got put in the program.

There's a high proability that I have relatives in the Irish mob, but they're distant relatives and I don't know anything about them.

No one who actually has relatives in the mob would say so, even on the internet. Anyone who says they do is lying.

My old roommate's dad was mobbed up and was convinced his dad had his mom killed.

I've had so many people tell me they were mobbed up I just started laughing at them. One other roommate told me he was mobbed up and everybody better stay on his good side or one day they'd walk by an exploding trash can. He was a total dickhead and one day, long after he had moved out, he for some reason showed up and got let in by another roommate, who promptly left. After a half hour or listening to his pointless and unmotivated nastiness, I wondered what the hell he was doing here and why I was putting up with it. I just couldn't take it any more and literally kicked his butt out the door and step by step down four flights of stairs. The exact opposite of my style, but exploding garbage cans or not, sometimes you just gotta reign in your gangsta if you don't want a foot up your ass.

my moms cousin got into some gambling debts...long story short, he was found in a parking lot in 4 pieces...apparently they tied his arms and legs to 4 different car bumpers and took off in different directions...drawn and quartered... down mess with the winter hill gang.

I went to high school with a friend that his dad was in the "mob". We lived in a gated community, and more than once I went to his house, and was met by goons with oozies. To even type this sounds crazy, it was more than 10 years ago, and at the time I did not think that much of it, but now looking back at it... it was crazy.

My roomate in colege was 100% Italian, and his dad "loaned people money". He swore his dad was not mobbed up, but his uncles were. My roomate had a new car every month, and most of them came from people that could not pay there "loans".

there was a girl at my high school who has a famous chicago mob last name. she would never say one way or another, it mainly just turned into a fun way to mess with her sometimes when she was drunk(she knew that it was joking around)

Why didn't that result in five pieces?

Because I guess it's like a wishbone. One part stays attached to the body.

My parents got a notice and invitation to Tony Accardo's funeral after he died (in prison, I think).

I have no idea why, but now I feel compelled to ask them.

My great grandfather was some sort of affiliated. I don't know exactly how, or what, but I know he made a lot of money working with them. He "rented out" a lot of property to them, and once had a hitman leave a body in his trunk for like, 4 days. It started to stink enough that the cops came and the guy got busted.

Obviously he wasn't running with the smartest mobsters.

I went to summer camp with a kid who's uncle (or so he says) was the real-life red-headed Mexican kid in "American Me." In case you don't know the story, it is about the Mexican Prison mobs in California. This kid was Hispanic and had reddish hair too.

When i was in High School I'm pretty sure I worked for a mobster. The guy was seriously old school italian and every friday night a whole bunch of other italian guys in suits would come to the resteraunt for dinner, he would sit at the head of the table and they would all kiss his hand before they sat down. Then they would only speak in Italian.

Whenever we asked him if he was in the mafia he would pretend he didn't know what the word meant.

A few years after i moved away the resteraunt burned down under mysterious circumstances.

My mum married a member of the russian mafia when she lived in moscow. The KGB kept following her and told her not to marry the bloke as he was a dodgy character. She didn't listen and ended up marrying him. Turns out he was a dodgy character and he got arressted and jailed, she divorced him and moved back to the UK.

My wife has a cousin in Orlando, florida whose husband was a butcher and now owns a pizzeria. He owns a 6 bedroom house, w/ one of those fancy pools that are inside a greenhouse like thing; A $15k home theatre system; a ferrari; 2 corvettes; 2 harleys davidsons; 2 top end navigators; 3 kids in private school; and; and....

His last name.... Castellano; yeah he's related to THAT Castellano.

Now, I'm not saying anything... I'm just saying.

A boyfriend of my grandmother (she was a pretty wild chick) used to be the bartender at the Italian Club in SF. Nicest guy in the world but he used to tell us some interesting stories.

The best one was how every fifth toll taken on the Golden Gate Bridge was supposed to go to a 'special fund'. Those toll takers that didn't place those tolls in that 'special fund' often commited suicide by way of being thrown off the bridge.

I used to work for a company that was owned by the mafia. I didn't realize this when I first started working there, but the longer I worked there, the more I found out. When the company started having some cashflow problems, suddenly there was a new "partner" that was brought in. He was the prototypical mafioso -- he looked a lot like Johnny Sack from the Sopranos.

When he died from cancer a few years later, his death was mentioned in the local paper, and he was described as a "reputed gangster".

There is no mob. Its all a lie promulgated by the U. S. government which is prejudiced against Italians. At least thats what my uncle Nunzio told me before he was sent to Attica for 25 - life /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Not really the mob, but my uncle was treated to an extended stay in a federally operated facility for being basically the marijuana kingpin of the entire state of Georgia.

My childhood friend's father was in the mob. He apparently was an executioner for Chicago Heights mob boss Albert Tocco. I think met him briefly once or twice, but my friend never lived with him while I knew him. I do specifically recall seeing his face being in the newspaper at least once, and he was convicted and put in prison for ~20 years.

My mother has a cousin (she calls everyone who is related to her "my cousin") who was high up in Whitey Bulger's group in Boston.

I say "was", because he's behind bars for life now.

I never met the guy. I can't even remember his name.

He had a "cookout" at his place on the Cape once a year. My mother would go, and my brothers and sisters often went. They came back and described the catered cookout (shrimp and lobster at a cookout?), and the mansion where it was held.

BTW, my mother is still boycotting "The Sopranos" for the negative stereotypes it portrays.
