to be honest, his flop smooth call almost told me i was already beat. he could possible have 777 or AJ. what else could he possible smooth call with? weak aces maybe?

If he'll call a push with a weak ace here, push. If he won't, check behind and then call a bet or open push the river.

edit: btw he probably won't call a turn push with Ax, you've made it pretty clear that you have TP. I check behind and push the river.

My plan of action was to check the turn and call a bet on the river. once he checked river I totally wussed out missed a value bet.

I would check the turn here since the other guy's likely hand is a weak ace and he'll probably call a value bet on the river anyways. You have no real worry of being drawn out by 2 pair so I'd check the turn and value bet/call the river.

I don't see how you could possibly check that river though. I'd bet 100% of the time.

checking the river was absolutely horrid move i admit. ive been burned 3 times today from "delayed check raises" hence the weakness.

autocheck turn, autoshove river. he will call guaranteed. holla
