I like it unless villain has been tighter than usual or something.

Sure. KJ isn't bad, you probally have a good deal of FE, and you're probally creating a decent amount of future EV by showing him you're no pushover from the BB.

I'm not all that confident in my restealing maths so I wouldn't mind hearing what sort of ranges you guys would do it with.

without a read (i'd consider his raising once or twice earlier in the tourney a read enough) i'd just call

It depends on your read of course. If he knows how to fold, and is just trying to steal, you have a lot of fold equity, but there are guys calling your all-in with JTs there (it keeps happening at the $22's).

I would push if I thought he'd fold and/or if he has been raising so many hands that he probably has 86o. Otherwise I call I think.

Interesting the people who say just calling seems like a good option. From my way of thinking, if I just call...I have to hit a king or jack to do anything. Big stack is more than likely going to bet any flop, and without a king or a jack (or, I suppose an open-end straight draw), I'm doing nothing with that flop.

Now, that's of course fine if all you're doing is calling off 1/20th of your stack. But here, Hero has to call off 1/7th of his stack to see the flop "cheaply." Then if the flop comes no K or J, he's folding.

Personally, I like the resteal here, and I think I'd likely use it often unless opponent is a true donkey (just ran into one whose calling range included Uno cards, and didn't learn my lesson ITM).
