I was playing no limit at Absolute and it was 3 handed, some guy bet, I bet more than he had, third guy folded, and then he called.

Then there was rake on my uncalled overbet in addition to the normal rake for the pot.

Have other people noticed this craziness??

Are you sure it wasn't this for example:
$10 in the pot (.50 rake)

Player A bets 10, you make it 40, rake is now $1.50?

They pull in the called version of the bets like every other poker room should do.

I have noticed that much there. It looks like a 10% rake from your post.

If you feel AP was in error, please contact them for support.

No, it is an over-rake, see my example above. I was trying out the site for the first time at the low limits and this is what I found.

They raked $0.20 on an overbet.

As I said, contact support. They're very good at figuring things out. Email them the hand history and explain to them what you feel happened. There is no support here for poker sites, just discussion of internet gambling.

I am just rying to see if anyone else observed this phenomenon and thinks it is ridiculous.

I play a lot at absolute and from looking at your hand history, i can't tell how there was a sidepot to begin with.

if there was a third player in the hand that mucked at showdown, it will list his name and put MUCKED next to it to denote that he did not fold and was in the pot at showdown.

as far as i can tell, unless there is a missing third player who called the overbet, this hand history is not correct.

did you recently play this hand? how did the whole pot get to be $8? just some odd things i noticed

I was seat 6. I overbet by $4.15 more than seat 5 had. Seat 5 won the main pot.

I only got back $3.95 of my $4.15 overbet because they took 0.20 in rake out. I don't get a side pot, it was an overbet, but they took the rake.

right, but at absolute, in the hand histories, they don't create side pots unless there are at least two players competing for it.

in your example, the hand history would read that you got your overbet RETURNED and there would only be a main pot.

perhaps this is a software bug or something. i'm going to dig through my hand histories and find one that is an example of what i'm talking about.

I've noticed that lately when somebody goes all-in and you raise more than he bet that amount goes into a side pot (for which you may be the only contender). And that "pot" is not returned to you until the end. I didn't notice if that pseudo-sidepot was raked, but it's possible that it was, will have to pay closer attention to those cases now.

It was raked, I don't know if it was due to the previous caller who then folded or what. It is definitely some kind of bug or scam.

Other weird stuff at Absolute I saw are
1) sometimes a $5 pot is raked 0.25 with 4.75 in the pot, and sometimes 0.20 with 4.80 in the pot. I don't see any possible reason for this.

2) they tell me they reject my avatar, then they put it there anyway.

The interface is kind of junk, but at least they upgraded the hand histories, "borrowing" the format from pokerstars.
