View Full Version : A7s and one scary turn

Main villain in this hand is unknown as of yet to me, but PFR has shown to be quite aggressive and quite loose. So, check or bet this turn? I'll post some thoughts later on. Enjoy!

Oh, and comment on my flop raise as well. Better to call and hope CO raises this or too many draws out?

How many of you call this 4x BB raise with A7s ?

Help me understand why this is a scary turn card. CO raised to 4xBB preflop and the A/images/graemlins/spade.gif is on the board. What made flush am I supposed to give him credit for? Or am I supposed to think CO was raising preflop with 89? Or are we giving CO credit for the case Aces, which could be possible?

It looks to me like an Ace with a high spade kicker that CO is playing. I think you bet 3/4 of the pot behind to give him bad odds to catch his flush. I'm sure this thinking is wrong, so help me see why.

Why cant sb have ace with any spade?

he can.

its just a question of how likely is it that he has an ace and another spade and he hits the 4th spade on the river.

I personally don't mind losing a small pot like this but it is a matter of preference. I find I make up for it with blocking bets from sb on a blank river when I check behind and the rare occasions that I fill up and stack the flush.

I usually don't. Against this loose and quite aggressive opponent, though, I figured that a lot of times I would get paid of handsomly if I hit something similar to what I did (he would be willing to go all-in with TPGK).

I bet you the probability of him having AX with one spade and a 4th spade hitting is about the same as your chances of filling up.

You're right, I'm dumb. Like a broken record.
