I think that you could have folded the river when it was two to you. The board is paired and there is a straight draw on there where you would normally be good, but with the action it is not looking likely.

At the point where it is two to you on the river you not only have to consider the current odds but also the expectation that it will be capped on the river as well, therefore it would be esentially 4 bets to win about 27 (I know that it wasn't capped, but I am going as if you don't know what happened in the end) that is about 1 in 6, I don't think that you are good here 1 in 6 so for me it is a fold.

Margon <- I suck at poker and play 0.50/1.00 so my advice isn't worth the time you just spent reading it.

JT and KQ are very reasonable holdings for button and UTG given the action. I think you can fold the river for two bets.

3 betting the turn 3-bet is unecessary. If you get any of this pot on the turn, you are most likely chopping, why push out the 1 guy that is paying you both off?

Fold when its bet and raise to you on river.

Turn 3-bet is aweful. River calling of 2 cold is just bad.

Do people CR the flop to get rid of Q8/QJ/8x ?

The turn reraise is bad because everyone can see JT97. You are now in a chop-or-lose situation and need to minimize showdown cost.

You cannot fold the turn because regardless of what they do, it could just be a 3-way chop.

That button would raise the river with only an eight is improbable and UTG's turn cap and river bet are very worrisome too. Don't pay multiple bets for a longshot chance to chop.

Weak draw in a small pot with a high 3-bet risk. Play cheaply. As for driving out QJ, good luck with that. Did you misread the board?

getting 4:1 on the turn, with effective odds, even worse, and at best 3 way chopping, i don't see how you can call 2 cold there.
