View Full Version : Trip Report: Qdoba's
There is no Chipotle around here, so we decided to head to the newly opened Qdoba's. There were 5 people in our party and we ordered a wide array of foods - 2 burritos, a chicken quesadilla (sp?), chips and salsa, chicken nachos and tortilla soup.
Everything was pretty bland and no one was really satisfied with their food.
Final Review: BAD. The burritos are huge, but no one really wants to eat huge tasteless burritos. I will probably not eat here again.

The surly attitude is no extra charge. Seriously though- check them out again if you want a damned good burrito. I go with double meat- carne asada and chorizo. Damn, I am getting hungry just thinking about it!

I go to Qdoba's all the time and love it. Real steak that isn't overcooked is a rarity at a fast foodish mexican restaurant. I usually get their fajita burrito and it is great.

What other mexican / burrito places do you frequent and/or like? Also, what state do you live in?
Agreed that Qdoba is bland and sucks. Chipotle, T-bell, any local burrito place are all better.

Illinois, and there isn't much else around. I eat at La Bamba (http://www.labambaburritos.com/About.asp), Taco Bell, and Fiesta Ranchera but none are as good as Qdoba.

Where in Illinois, certainly can't be in the Chicago area. Here is a list better than qdoba:
Chipotle
Taco Bell
Burrito Beach
Burrito Buggy
El Famous Burrito
La Bamba
Pepe's
El Mexicano
Taco Burrito Palace #2
Allende
Angela's
Goes on and on...
I live in Oklahoma, so the best Tex mex place is hands down - Taco Bell. We decided to go to Qdoba (happy astroglide?) since it opened up last week and we've been wanting to goto a new place forever. The only other tex mex places to goto is Taco Mayo and Taco Bueno, but they don't boast of big burritos like Qdoba does.
The burrito was bland, service was pretty slow and they also don't have a salsa bar (wtf?). So yeah, definitely not going there again.

Nah, I go to ISU so central IL. I forgot about Pepe's as they have one in the student lounge and they have just about the best tacos ever. La Bamba is good but their steak doesn't taste very good and chicken is dry when I've been there. Taco Bell is just horrid... Would be nice if there was a Chipotle around here as it seems highly recommended.
Qdoba = Baja Fresh = nastyness
