4 handed 10/20 6max on PP

2 people limp in preflop
sb, a tag, completes.

you are bb with A5o and daryn says you should raise.

thoughts?

edit: daryn told me to edit this because he thought the SB folded. however, even if the SB completes he doesnt "hate" raising.

yes, this thread is serious hes not joking.

I think a raise would be bad.

With 2 limpers - I think this raise is bad. However, if there was only one limper who was loose, and the sb is a tag, I raise this 100% of the time.

I would never do this against two limpers.

However, I don't mind raising this against one postflop-tight limper and the small blind completing. You have much better relative position and the quality of the SB hand is worse than a limper. You basically only have one player to bluff through, and I find myself bluffing in this spot a lot anyhow. By raising, you increase your equity on the bluff, but the chance of the bluff working probably remains the same. You also, of course, have the equity of having half a hand.

Ok, in all seriousness, I think the problem is we're probably not winning a showdown unimproved. What percentage of flops will we actually like? Raising gives us better folding equity on boards we like... do we really want that?

I just can't see post flop scenarios that adding to the pot preflop will help us out later.
