It's her birthday today. Help me out. We just got married in June. I've already given her diamond earrings for an earlier Birthday. Thanks for the help.

Buy her something personal to her, not something some random 00ti0t recommends.

Curiosity got the better of me. I'm interested in the suggestions. I'll buy what I think she'll like.

You could get her an Omega necklace with a slide deal. Sorry if my terms are incorrect, but that's how I remember it.

The beauty of this gift is that you can buy her different slides for future gifts. One might be just a gold or silver pennant, another has a diamond, another has some other gem (emerald, ruby, amythist).

You can always go the day-spa/massage/facial route for her and a friend.

I think you'd get more interesting suggestions if you included specifics. For instance, if you're always at work then a weekend getaway is nice so you can spend some time with her. Otherwise you're going to get a lot of cliches.

She teaches dance (ballet, jazz, tap), plays poker. We have 2 cats which we love. No kids for at least a couple of years. I work full time as a teacher and play 20 hours of poker a week. We do get a good chunk of quality time each week. We hike, dance (swing), love the beach, outdoors, family. She is turning 26. She reads 2+2. It's unlikely that she'll catch this thread though she does read OOT once in a while.

Pampering is the gift that keeps on giving... a romantic card and a gift certificate for massage/pedicure etc... maybe add a gift certificate promising to be her love slave for a weekend - those are the things gals really dig.

If you want to spoil a girl here are my tactics. Do *all* of the following if you really like her, or if it is a major birthday:

1) THE STANDARD PRESENT:
Standards being Jewellery, W/e break in a romantic place, pampering day, perhaps even an iPod mini these days.

2) THE PERSONALISED PRESENT:
E.g. oil paints, or camera accessory, or whatever their hobby is. For yours, perhaps hiking gear or some swing records?

3) THE EXTRAS:
Chocolate, champagne, expensive underwear, perhaps.

4) NICE MEAL OUT

5) ... /images/graemlins/tongue.gif /images/graemlins/wink.gif

This is a great idea, forget the friend, this is about her.
My birthday was last weekend, present was a gift cert. for all day spa salon that I LOVE. Suprise was dinner at our favorite resturant, and after that, a night away at a very romantic hotel. Very thoughtful, very relaxing, and very smart on bf behalf. Take your S.O. to a beautiful hotel with a huge hot tub and you are sure to get your moneys worth!
I do have to add (from a girls point of view) NEVER wait until the last minute, plan ahead!) this will not only save on your nerves, but you may get a little more for being organized.
Good luck, and hurry up!

I'm taking my wife and 3 other couples on a NY harbor dinner cruise for her birthday next month.
