Villain in this hand I believed had made a few moves on me after my PFR when he bet into me on a dry flop. His stats are 40.2/3.09/1.16 but was playing me aggressively so far.

I figure that he thought I had overcards so I checked when I hit trips on the turn as I expected he would bet it and would get confused when I lead the river.

The river DID boat me, but he had played the hand though he held the 7. I figured bet/fold was my best line, thoughts?

yes, I would fold this one. I guess he have something like 78s. Anyway, If you call, maybe it's a split, but I doubt that. This is a crying call against maniacs. If he is not a maniac, fold.

crappy river, i would fold.

you said he's been playing aggressive against you. if i were you i'd fold and look for a better opportunity to get all his chips. he's clearly willing to give them away with a 40 vpip, IMO.

Well, all I can think of to add is that a turn card like this is the perfect time to lead out with like 3/4 pot. The way I see it, is that if you think people are playing back at you by calling your continuation bets or leading into you on the flop after your PFR, this situation is the reason we use continuation bets.

I raise and bet a lot of hands (sometimes with air), so that when I finally DO make a hand, the opponent thinks I'm full of it again, or might see it as more desperation or more bluffing, and call me down. So I bet big on the turn.

The river looks okay.

Check/fold then? I figured he would call my river bet with any pair given the way I played the turn and would push with the high boat. Not too sure about leading the turn v. trapping against a guy playing agg against me.

i would block bet/fold the river. checking the river opens the door for an aggro player to take it away from you. if you check the river and he bets the pot, it is very difficult for you to call.

i change pace between leading and checking the turn. if i think mr. aggro will bet if i check, i think a c/r or check/lead river is nice. it all depends how you can get the most $$$ out of him. unfortunately for you, the river cancelled all of these plans.

i block/fold the river.

You have to call 80 bucks to take down a pot of ~$160. I think you're good here often enough to make this call, but perhaps my estimations are off. Against an aggro player this is a tough call, but I think I make it.

On a side note I'd rasie the turn. Get more money in when you're a favorite.
