Greencine has a much better selection of flicks and superior customer service than both. In addition, as a former employee I can tell you as a fact that Blockbuster exploits their workforce and engages in some pretty shady things in regard to them. If you want I can go into detail about this.

Edit: I should also add that there is pretty good evidence that Netflix deliberately does not ship out DVDs when they are supposed to for frequent renters so that they can increase their monthly profit. Also, they have a few bootleg DVDs in circulation.

I'm ultimately hoping that I'll have to deal with customer service as little as possible. Do you have any idea what kinds of delivery times they generally have? Also, while I'm curious about worker exploitation by blockbuster, there's no need to go into it here.

As an aside, I might need to delete this thread. Greencine has porn. That's awesome.

I did blockbuster and in my first month I can already tell they pull the same slowroll as netflix for frequent renters... if you go blockbusters expect them to constantly ship 2 discs on time and 1 disc a day or two late, and watch in amazment as they send you the second disc of a tv series instead of the first even if te first is ahead in the queue

Greencine has only 1 shipping station, located in San Fransisco, and it takes about 6 days from the time you mail a DVD to get a new one back. Netflix has shipping stations all over the country, so they CAN ship in 3 days or so. BUT, there is a good amount of informed speculation on internet message boards that Netflix intentionally holds DVDs from frequent renters to increase their profits. So, if you're the type of person who'll mail off a DVD the day after receiving it, then Netflix will take just as long or longer than Greencine. I don't know how long blockbuster.com takes, because working for them pissed me off too much for me to give them my business.

Another plus about Greencine is that you can download a lot of their films onlnie for a few bucks. As far as I know, other DVD services don't offer this.
