Villian had made this raise one orbit ago, the BB (5th place) pushed his 1100 stack, villian called w/A2s.

sounds funny but I would either call or push with 8/8 and fold with 7/7.

He is the other big stack, although neither of you are way ahead of the field. If he is going to call with a/2s then he is going to more than likely call with whatever he is raising with now. The question is do you want a call?

Just some random thoughts though.

After thinking this over again, this is a very tough decision. And I would have to totally base it off previous reads on the guy (the a/2s plus whatever else you have seen in this tournament)

Also if the other two are tight/passive at this point then it also makes the fold much easier if you were leaning towards that in the first place after considering your opponent.

All my opponents seemed solid, the UTG hadn't been making stupid calls, and BB was alot bigger but has since dwindled (meaning he was folding alot.) Villian hadn't done anything donk-a-riffic except for the A2, which he was getting 2:1 on anyway.

guess what I meant at the end of my ragged post was do you need to gamble here (coin flip)? Or can you make chips easily by stealing the blinds?

If it is the later case I fold for sure.

You also have to consider that it is very possible you are drastically behind to higher pp. It is less likely but a possibility.

Bubble calls like this sometimes are automatic, and other times severly hard. So it is difficult at best to get a really good answer from anyone. So much depends on the play from lvl 1 up to this point, by the other players involved in the hand.
