Villian is a f'in eagle scout. very tight raiser. I don't know what I'm ahead of on the flop, so I folded. What do all you fishes think about that! HA!

I thought about this and my initial reaction was with getting over 10:1 on the flop I can peel one then fold on the turn UI. But then I thought this was probably way wrong and if you are going to continue then raising may be the right play. Fold to a re-raise.

Why would we raise here? We are beating only JJ, and this kind of opponent seems like he won't be playing that.

As it stands, if we are going to continue playing, there is no reason to ever raise here. This would be standard WA/WB against normal opponents; call the flop, call the turn, call the river.

Against this opponent this is a very easy fold in my opinion.

Raising should never really occur on this hand if we are going to play on. What are we trying to do: extract value from JJ? (Calling down does this better because we don't provide an easy opportunity to fold) Get a better hand to fold? (Yeah... like AA or AK is folding here...)

You get the idea.

Looks like a good fold, you're not beating much here. He will most likely have AA, KK, AK here. JJ doesn't seem that likely, especially after leading the flop. And you haven't got Qs.

Yeah, I like it. JJ is instamuck for me here and probably QQ too.

Well played.

To stir this up a little bit, how large does the pot have to be against this player to call the flop? Hero has a backdoor straight draw and 2 outs to a set, both which figure to be good when they hit. If the pot were laying 12.3:1 (cold-caller folds to cap PF) instead of 10.3:1, should your play change? Does it matter if Villain will shut down the turn or river w/ JJ-QQ?

(4 outs needs ~10.75:1, 3 outs ~14.7:1, and implied odds are a little better, though sometimes we are drawing ~dead)

Given your read, good fold.

Even if you have this opponent pegged as a more loose player, you're only ahead of JJ in terms of hands people would cap with PF.

You saved yourself some $$$ here. NH.
