My childs elementary school is trying to win a new dell mobil lab by recieving the most votes in an online contest. I need as much help from OOT as possible to try and win this for our school.

I was thinking the same thing and all i can think of is that now every student has gone home and asked their parents to vote for a new DELL laptop. They have now ingrained the name DELL into every young mind in all of the elementary schools.

Ugh, I had to refresh twice just to get an image with all the characters visible and legible. Maybe the little ones have an easier time with these jacked up images.

Well i tried, voted you up from 331 to 324- someone else must have been on there at the same time from your school, for at first it went up in ranks really fast, but then slowed the hell down around 325. At one point youactually dropped a rank apparently from someone overtaking you, which gave me some impetus to really wratched up the speed...
Taht is one effed up code box, wonder if there are andy subliminal messages int here?
Any way, i have to go buy a new computer now, i was thinking a dell- perhaps i need 2...

We're not even on the hottest list. Basically top 5 for the day.

Currently its 6731 to 3818 to get into the hot list.
Leaders are at 78899 and 5th is 47273. All 5 get the grand prize.

3148 total schools and we're at 283 with 2269 votes so not bad so far.

Ok we need to get creative now, the number one school is over 80K now and they are getting around 6k votes a day. We have the domain www.voteforforest.com (http://www.voteforforest.com) we just need to figure out how to use it to get some votes. all you actually have to do is incorrectly type in the verification code and it resets it. thats much faster than waiting for the counter to hit a certain number of votes in my experience.

Hang in there their lunch hour must be over soon. Seriously I think they have classrooms full of kids forcing them to do this. We are going to need something special to put us over the top.

Hand out flyers to all the kids, parents and teachers in this school. Use local newspapers, radio, and TV. The website is a great idea also.

OK, I just put in a quick session, ~50 votes I think, but here's the trick. Have two windows of it open, one in firefox, one in IExpoloer. If you have it open in two windows of the same, there'll be a conflict and you'll get an incorrect validation code message every time. if you have it opened in the different browsers, you can vote twice as much.

You are right but we must keep it positive as we just started and are doing great! Momentum is very important as we need to keep this going for 43 days! People are not going to join unless they feel we are going to stick it out all the way. Once we crack the top 50 or so it will be easier to widen our scope of influence. i usually wait til 550

10 seconds to 150 and that works.

if it takes your computer 10 seconds to count to 550, i think i might cry.

Nothing special.. T41 laptop, 1.6 GHz Pentium M, 1G Ram.
This should have more to do with your network/connection speed than your physical system.

You know what? I usually would have put more into the damn thing but there is some kind of new [censored] virus on my computer I just picked up that is making my mouse skip around and the browser go back twice and [censored]. [censored] pissing me off. AVG can't find it.

its not worth it. having kids waste their time for the next 43 days to win 10k worth of stuff instead of learning? the only reason to get these computers is for the kids to learn more.
