View Full Version : $22 Level 1 KK confusion

This one had me confused and its a situation I struggle with...

Villain had limped Ace rag a few hands before this and checked behind when he made 2 pair on turn inducing an AI bluff on the river from SS.

I had played only 1 hand before this where I limped 66 in the SB and check raised an LP 1/2 pot bet on an 884 flop, I folded to UTG check RR.

In this hand I was stumped when the ace fell on the turn, calling his pot sized bet would obviously commit me but I felt that if he had Ax,A9,A8,A4 he would have check raised considering the strength I'd shown and his slowplay with 2 pair from a few hands before. I just don't know what hands I can put him on when he leads out like this, is he bluffing the scare card or betting for value? Easy fold???

Given ur betsizes I fold the turn. I don't play it exactly this way though.
I raise to t75 preflop. I'm potting or shoving the flop.

Trying to put the villian on a hand is useless. Becuase there is NO HOLDING that would make sense for his bet pattern. Whatever he has, he played it horribly. Even a bluff is terrible in this spot.

That aside, raise more preflop and pot the flop. If you do that, you're pretty committed so you're calling the rest of the way.

Yea, your pf raise was way too small, I t60 it, at least. Because you only raised t45 he's calling with anything, so you haven't narrowed his range at all.

His minbet on the flop means that the flop didn't hit him that hard. If he had TPTK or similar he wouldv'e bet bigger or check/raised, if he hit a monster he wouldv'e check called. His flop play indicates middle/bottom pair, a pair lower than 8, or a flush draw. On the turn I'm pretty sure he has an ace. After your preflop and flop play, he doesn't seem to be scared of the A at all, which means he has one or he can beat it.

(You guys are telling him to pot the flop, isn't that what he did?)

Yup, the flop was played fine. The big leak is preflop. If he had raised more preflop, he would have been commited after potting the flop.
