Bank Roll question?

I just resently started playing 10+1's after taking a big limit down swing. I figured it was a good way to build my bank roll back up. I was wondering how big of a bank roll do you need to handle the swings of the 20+2's and do you think it is a good idea to take a shot at the 30's for example if you don't fall in love with them after a win.
