When is it correct to NOT push AA/KK w/ high blinds?

Things like this happen quite often: I'm sure that if I raise a bit, I will probably get callers, because I have less FE. We always go all-in because that gives us more FE, but don't we want callers with AA?

Pop it to like 600. Just because you're playing doesn't mean you have to push, it's just that the vast majority of the time we have a hand that doesn't want callers. AA doesn't fall into that category.

Thanks, that was what I was thinking.

I did hope I would get a caller this time though. I had pushed several times already (and they noticed it) AND there were two callers, including a pretty shortstacked one... Ah well.

I'll very happily take the 700 uncontested.

I won't ever miniraise here and risk BB and limpers seeing cheap flop.

Besides quite often you'll get a call from limper with midpair.

Hence the suggestion to pop it to 600. Go for 700 if you really feel like it.

I think it's a mistake to vary your raises based on hand strength.

I push with all of the hands I'm going to play here.

Miniraising in this spot screams for high pair and actually might have more FE than a push. Especially if you've already pushed few times.

I didn't say minraise (which would of course be even worse).

If anyone's gonna call 400-500 more, he'd call a push as the stacks are so short.

This is a $33, not a $215+. I think that if someone has alrady paid $200, and you minraise, he will almost always call. If you make it $600 he'll call a little less but still more than when you push, I think.

I never showed the hands that I pushed with, so they probably thought I was bluffing or something anyway. (Why else did someone call his entire 10BB stack off with KJs when I pushed with AQs?)
