Still just as illegal. Can impose a penalty, or even be kicked out of some places if they feel you're doing it for a reason.

In cash games, I believe the rule is that you're generally allowed to show your cards to another player in a hand if you are last to act, all players are all-in ahead of you and you are closing the action. So say, for example, after the flop, UTG pushes, MP folds and it's to you on the button, you can show UTG your cards to try to get a reaction. Of course, different places have different rules.

Since you posted in the Home Poker forum..

Like has been stated before, generally if you're last to act, and there's no possible way for there to be any action after you, you can show. If you're heads-up in a hand and your opponent goes all-in, you can flash one (or both) cards to try to see if your opponent wants the call or not.

Since it's a home game, though, make sure it's cool with everyone else. If we're playing a serious game with a higher buy-in, we don't like it. If we're throwing around $5-$10, then we'll do it for fun.

The "exact" rule doesn't exist as it's a home game. Ask the people who run the game what the rule is before doing it, just to be on the safe side.

it happened in the WSOP the season russ hamilton won it. the guy eating the cheeseburger flashed his cards while he was last to act. while the hand is live, i think it auto mucks your hand.

NO NO NO NO NO. Under TDA rules exposing a card does not kill a hand, it may result in a time penalty.

In a cash game (as opposed to a tournament there is no reason to prohibit exposing a card once the hand is in a heads up situation. Cards should not be exposed when there are multiple players in a hand.

In some places exposing your cards kills your hand. Not all Casinos have adopted the TDA rules. I do hope they all do one day.
