I shouldn't give my full thoughts since I may be biased by the results. But I will say I don't think it's possible for a decent TD player to take FBIAgent's line here except in one circumstance. Then again he took a weird line in a similar pat/pat pat/pat spot against Mark with a wheel a couple of hands before this one.

By the way, who's your other friend, Merc? Someone we know?

I see in FBI's play a mistake I think I often make in td, at least against overly aggressive players. I refuse to believe they made a decent 8 drawing 2, and am afraid they're trying to get me to brake a smooth 87 while holding a rough 87 themselves. This will often lead to me spewing chips in a highly embarassing fashion. However, if FBI has a fairly unbreakable 87 like 87643 then I think calling down once mgritter stands pat may be OK, I'm not sure. There are so many bets in the pot, I'd hate to break looking for an unlikely 2 then fold when I miss. I guess I'd rather draw to my 8 in most cases, but I'm probably going to hate how this hand goes no matter what happens.

I think mgritter's cap with an 8654 is weak here unless he knows that FBI will stand on a 9.

WHAT THE HELL WAS SEAT 5 DOING? I mean, I've been able to reduce damage with sevens before but I really can't see how this is the spot, did he view you as an ultra rock or something?

As for the cap, I probably leave it at three bets, unless I know the guy will get really aggressive with a 9 or rough rough 8 here figuring any decent pat hand is a favorite against a 1 card draw, which I have seen a bunch of times at 1/2$. I don't know how he plays though.

When checked to I'll usually bet the turn and river unless I get that unexplainable bad feeling that there's something big and nasty in the water. I think I'd bet both spots here though, as I usually translate an average player that smooth calls with a 1 card draw as someone who has something really rough and straighty, he hit and took the initiative on the second round when he thought you were still drawing then realized he might be up against a real hand. Assumptions suck, however.

EDIT: I assume and hope he had to have 3467x preflop, but he seems kind of wierd passive so who knows.

I assume he wanted to checkraise on his check there? Seems like a bad spot for it though.

MercTec aka Tank. A regular hold'em player, he was also my roomie when we went to the 2+2 Vegas get together. He plays live TD with me occasionally.
