Just awful, and I'm a big gangsta movie fan. Might be worth sneaking in for the last 15 minutes or so, just to see the worst performance of William Hurt's career.
He's plays an Irish mob boss in Philly: "Been a long time, broyim..." LOL

Maybe you hated it because it is not a gangsta movie. HTH.

Yes. I liked the movie a lot (I think the paradox that Tom needed the Joey persona to survive in small town America -- i.e., violence follows him even before the mob does -- was interesting and makes the political statement more complex), but William Hurt was laughably bad.
