One of my best freinds (I was best man at his wedding) e-mails me every single stupid, ridiculous chain e-mail that comes along. He sends me Jesus crap, Marine crap, political crap, hot-chick crap, games, news, etc, etc, etc, etc. Most of them have been around for years. Anyway he sent me eight last night. I'd tellhim to just stop, but he's a really good friend that I want to keep in touch with. He lives across the country and I don't want to break contact with him (which is probably exactly the reason he sends them to me), but [censored]!

Great suggestions. I've had a couple of friends send me stuff really indiscriminately, and I don't look forward to seeing their crap in my inbox.

My mother in law does this. She sends everything to both my wife and me as well as everyone else in the family and even some of our friends whose email addresses she has gleened from various invites and stuff over the years.

I think she does it to prove she's a hip old girl. (Her words)

I choose to not say anything but almost all of it is either worthless crap or stuff that's been floating around the net since the early 90's.

Its got to the point I file it in the trash without reading it.

Talk to him. Tell him to quit forwarding you the retarded [censored] and send you just the good [censored].

I hate people that do stuff like this. /images/graemlins/mad.gif

Oh, and tell him if he does send it to you, to get rid of all the FWD:FWD:FWD:FWd: [censored] so it reads easier.

My sister was doing this to me for a while. I repeatedly told her to knock it off, but she wouldn't. I still get them occasionally.

I had a girl doing this to me, forwarding me all that stuff. I told her to stop sending me junk and I never heard from her again.

So it might not be a great idea if it's from someone you like, you never know when someone can take something as simple as "dont spam me" the wrong way.

Spend 10 minutes signing up his email address at every porn, newsletter and home shopping site you can find. The more depraved the better. Gay, scat and bondage are a must. This may not solve the problem, but it's highly satisfying. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Believe it or not, most of my really good friends don't have computers or email addresses. The ones that do, we don't communicate by email at all, except a buddy I have that is an engineer, and is in Brazil or Thailand most of the time.

But can you trust this guy to sort the good [censored] from the bad [censored]?

If you can't, then is he *really* a good friend?

I'd say not.

Probably not, but my case of this is a college roommate I've known for over 20 years. I feel bad just telling the guy 'please stop flooding my box with this stupid crap'. But that's on me.

Man, you should shoot him an email stating something like:

Hey, it's awesome to hear from you, but my work is giving me heat from all these forwards you are sending to me. Can you take me off your big list you forward funny/amusing/retarded/things you shouldn't but you fwd anyway?

Cause I enjoy hearing from you, but I can't be getting the forwards with no message stuff you send.

thanks dude.

I think some people are still so facisinated with the technology of email that they have to use it in every way possible

hey that's really good. Can I borrow that? I have a friend who keeps sending me political emails about Bush thinking that we share the same views. I've been wondering how to make it all end.

I had a really stupid co-worker that left and asked me for my personal email. Big mistake giving it to her. She started with the forwarding of ridiculously useless crap. Eventually it stopped. My guess is, she got one of those emails from the Sultan of whatever that wants to give her $12,000,000 and she's pursuing it.
