This player is rated as a "maniac" in my PT datbase. My question is. If you play like a "moneybag" or a "smiley face" can you ever have that good of a run even at 200 hands?

I don't really know what you're asking here (is there a picture I'm not seeing?), but I do know that the higher your winrate is, the bigger your upswings are and the smaller your downswings are. So I'm guessing the answer is yes.

On January 9, 2005 my stats for the day were

Level Hands VPI$P BB/100 PFR
$2/$4 66 21.21 57.39 15.15
$1/$2 (6max) 123 34.15 40.90 18.70
$1/$2 40 12.50 21.25 7.50

The best day I've ever had. My overall stats are TAG and tend to be a little too tight PF by most peoples standards.

So clearly it's possible but unlikely.

Is this for one session, or a number of sessions. Other than being overly loose preflop, these numbers aren't that bad. It looks like he is bluffing a lot and winning before the river, and when he shows down, he has the goods.

4 sessions.
AF is also 3.4

that combination of vpip and won when saw showdown is completely unsustainable.

So, he's 43/12/3.4 over just under 200 hands. The only thing you really have to change to make those moneybag's stats is bring the VPIP down (the AF would probably come down with it). So, he's what, 23% higher VPIP than a moneybag, so over 189 hands that's 40-ish hands he was in on that a moneybag wouldn't have been. Figure 5-10% of those hands he was catching something and another 5-10% he was bluffing people out and you've got 8-10 winning hands balancing out the rest of them...with 3-4 opponents per pot, that works out right.

Of course it is. That's why the question is whether a moneybag could have that good a "run".

It would appear the answer is yes. Can this player have a good long run? I don't think so.

"How would you guys play against a player like this?", I think is a better question.

Depends on where he is relative to me, but I like tightening up slightly* and then letting him drive the pot when I've got a monster.

*By "slightly" I mean reduce the number of speculative hands I play, but not cut them out completely. I'd like to show down a couple of 2PTK or TPNK hands just in case anybody's paying attention so that I don't completely kill the table just by being in the hand in MP.
