typical PP 1/2

I am in MP with JJ

UTG+1 bets, I raise, MP2 and CO call, BB raises, UTG+1 drops, I call as does MP2 and CO: 4 to the flop

Flop: 77Q (suits not important)

BB bets, I call (is this a raise or fold situation?) all else fold

Turn: 6

BB bets, I call

River: 3

BB bets, I call

He turned over 88 and my jacks were good.

Despite the win, I feel that my play here was overly passive. Any comments would be most appreciated.

Since you have position on him, I would have probably raised the flop. If he re-raises, I may go into check and call mode. You expect he has a big hand if he's reraising out of the BB, but I'm learning in these low limit games, that's not always true.

During my session yesterday in Blackhawk, I saw it capped pre-flop several times and the raisers showing down things like A5o or worse. Go figure.

On the flop, I might have raised, because there were still other players in the hand. Once it becomes headsup, there probably isn't anything to be gained by raising, you will blow weaker hands out, and give more money to stronger hands.
