View Full Version : Max 6 best to clear bonuses?

09-30-2005, 08:44 PM
I play on the $25nl tables to clear my bonuses, and I am wondering if the max 6 tables would be best...seems so, as one only gets credit for the rake with money in, so you are, in fact, in more often on the max 6s.

On the other hand, I am more of a fan of full tables, as I can see more hands and pick and choose more than on max 6 tables. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I am not trying to clear them with a bazillion tables going (I only play 2 at a time), and speed is not the issue for me (well, try to do them in a week, tops). I am trying to win as much as I can and the bonuses are just icing on the cake for me; therefore, should I stick to my full ring games?

I was just wondering why some favor the max 6 tables...more efficient to clear the bonuses...what are some lines of thought?

It seems you have to be quite a bit more active on the max 6 tables, hand values increase with fewer people...more moves had to be made more often...perhaps I should be allocating my time to full-ring and max 6 50/50?

Any advice/thoughts/suggestions would be more than welcome..thanks, guys.

6max is better, but not as good as stud, for contributed bonuses (which aren't all that common).

6max is better in terms of hourly rate for clearing normal bonuses (if you can play as many tables) because you get more hands/hr. It's worse in terms of rakeback equivalent, because you're also paying more rake per hand.

It really depends on the site you are clearing your bonus at.

For hands that are CONTRIBUTED your best bet is for hold'em is 6 max.

For sites that are simply raked hands, your best bet is full tables (if you dont like playing too many hands). (at least that is the safest way).

Thanks, guys. I didn't know some sites count hands where you did not contribute...very nice. I'll have to look into all the structures.

Bonuses aside, though, it's all about preference, huh?

Always have played at Party; just went to Empire to clear the bonus....next I was looking at Absolute, UltimateBet, full-tilt, or Paradise. There are a ton of sites that just popped up, but I am always sceptical of the "no-name" sites, so like to stick with the tried and tested ones. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

I don't know the betting mechanics of the spread games enough to have total confidence in my game, so I stick with my $25 and $50NL games...and the $10-$20 tourneys...to grow the roll /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Does anyone have a list that shows which sites are contributed and which sites are raked? That would be extremely helpful to a whoring newbie like myself.

Thanks in advance for any help.

All of these sites are non-contributed.
