View Full Version : I hate casino whoring

09-30-2005, 07:43 PM
I bet 5 dollars a hand on casino on net and be the dealer and 2 dollars a hand at starluck and planetluck.

casino on net = I deposit 200, clear the 200 bonus and cash out for 420. Net = + 220

Starluck = deposit 100 and lose it all before clearing the bonus. Net = - 100

Planetlick = deposit 100 and lose it all before clearing the bonus. Net = - 100

Be the dealer = deposit 200 and lose it all before clearing the bonus. Net = - 200

Broken Logitech Wireless mouse = thrown at wall 5 minutes ago. Net = - 80

Just wanted to let everybody know these arent risk free at all. I dont think I will ever whore casino sites again.

But do you know what the good news is? I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico.

Why don't you at least minimize your losses by redepositing and finishing out the bonuses? I've done this at either Starluck or Planetluck, can't remember which, so I know it works.

And really, it could be worse - you're currently down $260 (of which $80 is your own fault), but you have $400 in bonuses left to clear (I assume that the "be the dealer" bonus is $200). That means you're still $140 ahead, and probably have made a good dent in the bonuses.

I'm sure you don't appreciate me telling you "it could be worse" after you just experienced a run of shitty ass luck, but whatever...

No. Casinos do not make money from variance. Casinos make money when people make -EV wagers. You were not doing this if you were not planning to play more than the wagering requirement.

At all of these casinos, you get to play with the bonus money before you clear the bonuses. I believe the OP lost the bonus money, too. Busting out relieved him of the wagering requirement. There is no reason to deposit more without a reload bonus or other promotion.

If this were PokerRoom, then it would make sense to deposit more to complete the wagering requirement to get the bonus.

Like pzhon said, you get to play with the bonus money, so I'm sure he lost that too. This is the case with almost every casino.

Every tutorial and thread on this and most other sites all dicuss how easy it is to whore casinos. I believe I read one that said the odds of losing everything were 1/100. It happened to me 3 times just giving a heads up...sorry for posting. I clearly suck at life and have small male parts.

Just curious, but how much per hand were you betting? If it was something like $5, the risk of ruin is actually pretty big. If you were doing $1-$2/hand then this is horrific luck.

And are you sure you didn't slip in any $25 bets when you lost a few in a row and got frustrated? I know it's tempting.

Not that it'll make you feel any better, but Be The Dealer has a bad rep, very streaky. I've rarely busted, SIA was my only other bad run, but BTD was a trip straight to the bottom. I'll get blasted for saying this, as I've said it elsewhere and gotten blasted, but the cards at BTD don't "feel" true. I've not got any evidence to prove it, and this casino has plenty of defenders, but you're not alone on this one.

BTW, if you had signed up for those casinos properly, you'd have $110 more than you do. It pays to search the threads here and at BW.

On the other hand, I started doing 'by the book' BJ casino whoring about a month ago and have yet to post a losing session.

To the OP, probably a dumb question but... you did use some sort of play-chart, right?

If you wagered 1 dollar on each hand, the odds of you busting would be a lot lot slimmer.

I just got stupid at BeTheDealer.com and started playing Carribean Stud. won about 500 quick and that was enough for me, lol.

I'll just throw in my experience I had last night at Monaco Gold: I deposited $300 and got the $600 instantly giving me a nice bankroll of $900. The WR was about 11,000 playing JoB. In a very short time I was down to 50 cents. I made 5 $1 bets the whole time. I couldn't believe it. Plus once I reached $100 I had a few chat windows pop up offering me weird reload bonuses like "deposit $500 within the next 10 mins and you'll get a bonus of $222"
Then I converted my accumulated comp points to about $10 and made one 50 cent bet. My first hand was a SRAIGHT FLUSH...what the fXXXX...switched back to $1 bets and had 4 of a kind 3 times within 10 minutes.
Ended up with $330...what a ride !!!

p.s. I did NOT make this up /images/graemlins/smile.gif

JOB is a hella lot more volatile than BJ. Even if you're playing a video poker game that's > 100% return, you should expect to lose a lot in between royals.

The requirements are a bit higher. Wagers as the dealer do not count towards WR. I believe I just made it past the WR with a bit over 1200 in my account.

I had 200 + 200 bonus. Another $8 for using neteller (5%), another 10 from their phone call verifying my information. Plus they had a "mystery bonus" during the month of Sept. I got $44 on a $150 bonus on the 28th plus any double down that got a total of 21, I would win triple instead of double the bet. (made another 75 from that).

Total WR was around 14k after all the bonus and deposit money. Cashed out a healthy 1100 (left 150 in there for later). So 350 deposit + 262 bonus and got back 1100 so far /images/graemlins/smile.gif.

Be The Dealer has been great for me. I have netted about $5000 from bonuses, promotions, contests, and +EV dealer situations.

Unfortunately, I never hit the royal flush on their temporarily +EV video poker, and I lost about $4k trying (EV was about +$10k), and they eventually cut me off from their deposit bonuses and coupons.

If you want to see some variance, try being the dealer against someone playing video poker at $25/hand. Someone who plays horribly, but hits quads a lot. One guy took $3.5k off me in a few hours including several quads ($625 each) and a straight flush ($1250). I had to redeposit to cover the maximum.
