View Full Version : Common situation for me at 5/10

This flop donk is just as often a bluff as it is a pair I've found. The problem I've encountered is that since I've moved back up to 5/10 I get 3 bet here by bluffs/pairs/draws ALOT.

Is this worth raising or do I just start folding flops to these guys, or peeling and folding the turn?

i would post this hand up to the point where you raised the flop. showing that you got 3bet will skew the responses you get.

fwiw though, i usually just call the flop and fold the turn UI. the size of the pot and my opponent are the deciding factors in whether or not i choose to raise the flop for a free card (i assume that's what you were doing here?) in a 5 sb pot against an unknown, i'd rahter play is safe and call/fold turn UI. if the pot was bigger, and i had a read on my opponent as passive, i'd be more inclined to raise the flop.

that's why raising usually sucks.

Sometimes I raise and take the free card sometimes I raise and bet the turn depending on how I feel about the board. Although lately I just raise and get 3 bet.

If I just call, I will have to fold the turn unimproved, yes?

this might be a leak if you're doing it often. why do you think he's taking a shot at you? yeah, you were the favorite going into the flop but it totally missed you. the pot is only 6 sbs when he bets into you. why are you charging yourself and extra BB to see the turn in a pot so small against an unknown? just let it go.

I found the donkbet on the flop to be a pair the huge majority of the time at 5-10, often top pair. Its defeinitely something you want to watch for and write notes for what the bet with here. Most players it's top pair though; I didn't see draws or bluffs doing this that often at all from standard opps.

i think you have the best hand on the flop about 85% of the time here.
