I live in KC too. I guess you haven't been to the casinos here in a while. Flamingo has a card room so does Harrah's, and Station also!!! I play 7-Stud $1-5 and Hold Em $2-5 at Flamingo mainly. I was just there this weekend(lost my ass). The Bad Beat for 7-Stud is 10,000, and for Hold Em its over 20,000, so expect a 3-4 hour wait to play on weekends. If you have any other questions feel free to e-mail me, or post one here. Thanks

Is this a RGP post? Or did 2+2 exist in some other incarnation before its present website/forum paradigm?

1998? Nice. I was playing P*ker then, but didn't think to look for stuff on the web.

It's in the Older Archives (http://www.twoplustwo.com/archives.html). My first posts are funny - talking about how there were too many fish to be able to beat the game....NPA Ed Miller was a few years too late for me. I used to drop $300/wk easy.

How'd you find it? I have posts from back in the day under 2d (the new format doesn't allow 2 character user names, so I switched to M2d). I wouldn't mind seeing what crap I used to think.

Even though the date on my profile says later, we didn't used to have log-ins. You can search the older archives for the original "Other Topics forum". I started posting there soon after its inception in 1999.

This is first post of mine I could find in that forum:

• HE in Portland, OR

I am a Seattlite who travels to Portland, OR monthly on business. Anyone know a place to play Hold 'Em in Portland? I know there are some casinos just outside the city but I don't bother with a car while I am there. Low limit games are OK.

Thanks.

You have to load the old digests from "Older Archives". Then use the old Crl+F to find your name. Not super useful if your monogram is KJS though, unless you want to read everyone's posts about King Jack suited. I did manage to find an OT post from 1999 though.

If you weren't posting when 2+2 had the old software, you can't call yourself a veteran. Even if you were, it's debateable.

Anybody who signed up around...err, let's just pick a random date...let's say 9/22/03...are part of the ESPN/Moneymaker crowd. They definitely aren't veterans.

While I agree I'm not a vet, I think you saw the biggest shift in the culture of the forum circa Raymer's win, not Moneymaker. I'm just basing that on the few months before the WSOP and the changes I've seen since though.

I started in 11/03. I've been playing since about this time in 2001 though. I was 17 and starting my senior year in HS, and we were well ahead of the "Moneymaker/WPT Craze". Schneids finally convinced me to create an account here in November, my freshman year of college.

I'm not a veteran, and that makes me very happy.

Most of the 'veterans' who actually take note of such things are not people I want to be associated with. /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

As whiskeytown said, no accts are older than 9/02/02.

The real test is whether your account predates the WPT.

Yes, I think there are three groups...Old-timers, Rounders and Moneymaker. I would be in the rounders group.
