3/6 6max

CO opener is quite tight, but probably raises a decent % of hands here.

Button cold calls and is lag.

BB is unknown

I have Q9s in the sb with the 3/6 blind structure.

Is folding here giving up too much?

I think calling is giving up too much...the 1/3 blind structure makes you really be mindful of what you play from the SB, especially for a raise, as your implied odds kind of go to [censored]. in a 2/3 I could see calling it, but I've never played in a 2/3 game. I'd probably fold it in a 1/2 game, but call QJs.

Thank you gentlemen. Just making sure of these things as I adjust.

Thanks Kevin.

I've been playing some mid limit games here and there...but all full. It's just becoming painfully clear that if I want to move forward in the party network, I have to become at least proficient in the 6 max game....so here I go.

No, I fold.

Can I get a feel for like some small blind jive in 6 max with this blind structure...for example....

a looser player limps somewhere up front, I'm the sb with something suited like Q5 or something like A4o.

The bb is fairly calm PF...maybe a 10 PFR%...

How much can I loosen up with calls here?

the rule of thumb that was fairly common on the boards when I started playing 3/6 was that you can complete any hand in the SB that you would limp on the button. I think it's a good tight foundation, at some point you can add more things like lower offsuit aces if that's your jive, but I don't have enough data to guess at their profitability.

OK, if Q9s is a clear fold, what about KTs? QTs? JTs? 87s?

those are all folds for me at 3/6...I'm tempted to play the JTs and the 87s in a 1/2 structure, but I'd like another (bad) cold caller.

so...you just want to remove those likely dominated hands...I don't know about that. I really like those small suited broadways there...

For 5/6 of a bet out of position in a situation where you will be facing aggression in a lot that isn't particularly multiway, I think folding is going to do you a lot of good.
