Hero ???

I assume the flop bet was too small. Given that, the guy pushing potentially has the straight and defending against a flush. Or, he could have Qx and could just be over-aggressive.

Even if Hero is ahead here, is it worth folding just to hold onto the 555 chips, which would be much more useful for FE purposes in late game?

Edit: fixed hand history formatting.

I think the hand is fine, as long as you call the turn...there's not a whole lot to it.

I'd bet a little more on the flop, maybe 125, but it's not a huge deal. I'm definitely calling that turn, you have a decent amount of outs to a boat and I think you'll be ahead here enough to make this profitable.

The main question I have is that occasionally I double or triple up way early in the game and I almost feel like it's not worth it to get involved in any hand, and instead just coast to the bubble where you can really get ahead. I realize we should always be looking for +EV plays (and I agree that calling this turn is +EV) but with a decent stack I can pick up a lot more chips in Level 5 and 6 on the bubble than anything I gain in Levels 1-4.

I think the thing is though that you are probably gonna wait and then push a marginal hand later and hope to double up. I think it's even more +EV to push now because you are probably ahead and even if you lose you will get the game done with now and you can play another.

Just my 2 cents

You have to call that turn bet. He probabrly has picked up 2 pair or a pair and a straight draw.

As I was working my way through this thread, that's the read I had. He does not have AK here, and K9 is possible but not likely. I vote 2 pair over the pair/draw, but that's possible too, I guess.
